Mike Judge and Porcell with Judge at Webster Hall last night (via xfaceupx)
Judge

Twenty-three years after breaking up, legendary New York hardcore crew Judge took to the stage to a packed house at Webster Hall last night. The show was their second of two dates at the venue (May 18 & 19), both as part of Black & Blue Bowl with support coming from Breakdown on one night and Madball on the other, with other names like Kill Your Idols, Bane, Black Train Jack, Crown of Thornz and more across the two days. Check out some video of Judge from Webster Hall below, including almost all of their 5/18 set and a rendition of "New York Crew" featuring CIV and Toby Morse of H20.

If you missed Judge, Kill Your Idols, Bane or Black Train Jack, you're in luck. All three, as well as names like Cold World, Trapped Under Ice (last show), Sick of it All, Modern Life is War, Paint it Black, Kid Dynamite and Suburban Scum will play This is Hardcore 2013 in Philadelphia in August. Updated lineup is below and tickets are on sale in different incarnations.

In other NYHC news, in addition to his ongoing Lower East Side walking tours, John Joseph of Cro-Mags will lead a pair of appearances titled "Evolution of a Cro-Magnon - an evening of Reflection, Tragedy and Triumph" to discuss his his life and book. Tickets for both July 10 and 11 at the Krain Theater (85 East 4th St in Manhattan), are still available. Cro-Mags also have a whopper of a show set for Chicago.

Judge videos and This is Hardcore Lineup are below.

Q: What does Chris Brown have in common with people who went to this?

A: They both are misogynistic womanizers.

Posted by Anonymous | May 20, 2013 12:24 PM

I love how hardcore bands refer to themselves as a 'crew'.

Fuckin dummies.

Posted by Anonymous | May 20, 2013 12:24 PM

lot of pissed off closet cases at this thing

Posted by Anonymous | May 20, 2013 12:25 PM

Dear 11:54 Paint It Black is one of the most feminist leaning bands in music today. Your joke is invalid!!!

Posted by Anonymous | May 20, 2013 12:37 PM

As both a misogynist and a womanizer I can say for certain that 11:54 is most definitely a cunt as only a chick would think that post was witty and funny.

Posted by Anonymous | May 20, 2013 12:45 PM

12:24 you better be 13 years old typing "smh"

Posted by Anonymous | May 20, 2013 1:01 PM

^you better be 13 having gone to this show

Posted by Anonymous | May 20, 2013 1:03 PM

Nah, I'm 29 and had a blast seeing old friends who I haven't seen in a while and got to sing along to one of my favorite bands while you spent your night trolling the BV comments section. Keep trying.

Posted by Matt | May 20, 2013 1:17 PM

Matt was in pre-school when Judge first got people's taints a sweatin'. He and his bros used to Bring It Down with their juice boxes.

Posted by Anonymous | May 20, 2013 1:31 PM

^it's afternoon dummy. I'm going to go out on a limb and assume Judge doesn't have the brightest fan base.

Posted by Anonymous | May 20, 2013 1:31 PM

Mike Judge?!? Did he do any voices from Beavis and Butthead or King of the Hill? Was watching some KotH reruns the other night, what a good show that was.

Posted by Anonymous | May 20, 2013 1:35 PM

Think fatboy from Judge can bend over and tie his shoelaces?

Posted by Anonymous | May 20, 2013 1:39 PM

if you are 29 shut the fuck up. you don't belong here. stay at the korn concerts your used to

Posted by Anonymous | May 20, 2013 1:48 PM

sausage fest, no chicks

Posted by Anonymous | May 20, 2013 1:51 PM

11:54 - pretty blatant projection of your feelings onto others, no? Sad.

Posted by Anonymous | May 20, 2013 1:58 PM

1:31 #2- Keep trying.

Posted by Anonymous | May 20, 2013 1:59 PM

Sorry that this isn't some art-punk-electro hipster fest or a black metal show.

Seems like that's the only time people are nice on this fucking website. Hipster trash.

Posted by fuckyou | May 20, 2013 2:04 PM

^ calm down, (most of us) are just kidding. christ.

Posted by Anonymous | May 20, 2013 2:15 PM

Oh, I'm well aware. Most of the time it's easy to tell who's kidding and who's not. And I'm as calm as a cucumber.

Posted by fuckyou | May 20, 2013 2:21 PM

....calmer than you are.

Posted by Anonymous | May 20, 2013 2:25 PM

1:48. Go back to English class. YOU'RE used to. Your used to implies that "used to" belongs to me or something. That doesn't make much sense...

Also my comment was referencing Kill Your Idols. Couldn't care less about Judge

Posted by Anonymous | May 20, 2013 2:26 PM

Too much "crew". Not enough J Crew.

Posted by nipslips | May 20, 2013 2:26 PM

do the hardcore 'kids' in their late 40's still wear cargo shorts and Champion hoodies?

Posted by Anonymous | May 20, 2013 2:33 PM

Cheese ages well, hardcore bands do not.

Posted by Anonymous | May 20, 2013 2:40 PM

2:33 - I keep trying to answer you, but it isn't letting me. I don't know what I'm triggering. My answer is yes, but it should have come across with a lot more snark. Oh well.

Posted by Anonymous | May 20, 2013 2:48 PM

Judge 2013 are phonies and anyone who supports them is a fellow phony idiot.

Singing songs about being straightedge when you're not straightedge like Judge did is bullshit.

'Gotta milk it for all it's worth with the immediate announcement of you on This Is Hardcore Fest, huh Judge?

Again shame on everyone who went to these shows. You supported phonies. You need to stop living in the past, move on with your lives, and either support current, active hardcore as well as these shows or get lost.

Posted by D | May 20, 2013 3:40 PM

3:40 still gets pissed off about bands from the late 80's going back on their words of the mighty edge?! What a tool and get a life. I was there, drinking a beer and singing along to "Where it Went"... And, I had a blast as I'm sure the rest of WH did too.

You lose retard.

Posted by Anonymous | May 20, 2013 4:06 PM

Whoever is talking shit, if you saw the people their last night and said that to their face, they would easily beat the shit out of you instantly you hip fucks.

Posted by Anonymous | May 20, 2013 4:15 PM

@1:51 Actually, there were a lot of chicks there. Some actually pretty hot.

Posted by Anonymous | May 20, 2013 4:21 PM

i saw one of the videos. How do people not get seriously hurt at these shows? and how are there not a lot of fights?

Posted by Anonymous | May 20, 2013 4:49 PM

If by "seriously hurt" you mean "pregnant" it's because, despite all their intentions, most guys cannot truly get pregnant. Some biological issue.

Posted by xTAINTx | May 20, 2013 5:14 PM

bravo, 5:14, I lol'd

Posted by Anonymous | May 20, 2013 5:41 PM

" saw one of the videos. How do people not get seriously hurt at these shows? and how are there not a lot of fights?"

Because it's not the 80s - early 90s anymore and people are pussies.

Posted by Anonymous | May 20, 2013 9:17 PM

4:06pm

No, YOU'RE the retard. You are EXACTLY what I'm talking about.

You are all mindless sheep who are no different than Justin Bieber fans, only worse because you all know better.

Actually, Justin Bieber fans are better than you because at least 90+% them are pre-teens and teenagers.

You? Grownups making believe they're late '80s-early 90s teenagers for two days and being laughed at all the way to the bank by Judge who could care less about any of you, hardcore, or most of all the integrity of their creation, and it's sad, pathetic, and stupid like you.

Btw I am not straightedge, never was or will be, so spare me the "I was there, drinking a beer" spite. Your insecurity is so typical it's laughable.

Posted by D | May 20, 2013 9:41 PM

True 'til later.

Posted by Anonymous | May 20, 2013 9:42 PM

Why is it that there are so many guys standing on stage doing nothing but holding up iPhones?

Posted by Anonymous | May 20, 2013 9:50 PM

I love how John Joseph runs his mouth about how he'll never share a stage with Harley Flanagan again yet he plays music Harley co-wrote under a name Harley came up with and with a drummer Harley recruited and let into the band.

Bottom line is John Joseph invited Harley to the "Cro-Mags" show at Webster Hall last year to set him up for a beating (John) was too chickenshit to deliver himself, John had to get DMS goon friends to deliver it and they failed miserably. The fact that John had Harley patted down and publicly stated that he (John) had a pipe onstage makes John the ultimate coward.

Posted by D | May 20, 2013 9:54 PM

9:17pm Yeah fighting was soooo cool. Idiot.

Posted by D | May 20, 2013 10:44 PM

How do these closet cases decide whose cocks they want to suck, is it based on pretty eyes or badass tattoos?

Posted by Anonymous | May 20, 2013 11:36 PM

I went to see Judge and all I got was a face full of taint.

Posted by Anonymous | May 21, 2013 12:09 AM

@11:36 How do you decide whether to fuck your Mom or to sit and cry in a dark room by yourself while listening to Feist?

Posted by Anonymous | May 21, 2013 10:29 AM

^what a meathead.

brunchcore > hardcore

Posted by Anonymous | May 21, 2013 11:10 AM

LOL @ no one replying to my comments.

Scared? HAHAHAHAHAHA.

Posted by D | May 21, 2013 12:06 PM

What is all this DMS crap? Why does everyone need a crew like a security blanket, especially grown ass men in their late 40's.

They didnt start any trouble and seem to mind their own business but it is lame to see 3/4ths of the audience with these brand new DMS vests they all wear. How adorable.

Posted by Y | May 21, 2013 12:34 PM

12:06 can't be D. D wouldn't seriously be asking why people are bored with the comments on this thread.

Posted by Q | May 21, 2013 1:14 PM

3:40- By your logic, Youth of Today should never play again because they are no longer young. Oh yeah, better tell The WHO to stop playing as well, seeing as they got old.

Posted by Anonymous | May 21, 2013 2:26 PM

I heard a bunch of dudes got pregnant at this show.

Posted by Anonymous | May 21, 2013 2:32 PM

9:41 - Wow, what a comeback. So, you're saying a guy in his late 30's, early 40's is not able to go see a band live who just got back together, who he still likes and listens to? In the whole scheme of things, I could give two shits about Mike Judge, Judge and their legacy etc.. I just enjoy listening to hardcore. You and your silly JJ/Cro-Mag talk - talk about needing to move on... sheesh!

Get off the board, go join Match.com or something - It's getting nice out.

Posted by Anonymous | May 21, 2013 2:42 PM

hahaha, some dude in his late 30's early 40's listens to Judge. Kill yourself dude.

Posted by Anonymous | May 21, 2013 2:51 PM

Sick of it All should probably stop playing, too, D. Are they really still sick of it all? All of it? So much time has gone by. I'm sure at least one of them has kids. They can't be sick of their kids (or at least I hope not.) You have to figure that at least part of what they were sick of (such as "Friends Like You") are no longer a concern of theirs.

Posted by xTAINTx | May 21, 2013 3:05 PM

All of you weirdos, how about we leave the hardcore music to the >21 year olds?

Posted by Anonymous | May 21, 2013 3:21 PM

2:51 just got out of his Fall Out Boy phase last year, moved here from Tulsa, just bought a fixie bike, barbacks at bar in BK - life is A-OK and he is enjoying his NYC experience.

Posted by Anonymous | May 21, 2013 4:23 PM

Just stopped in to say that when Judge covered "Legalize It" well, I had tears in my eyes. The 12 minute steel drum solo was just... I mean...fuck...

Posted by Anonymous | May 21, 2013 4:44 PM

Who ever this new guy is pretending to be D is totally killing it in this thread

Posted by dave | May 21, 2013 8:59 PM

4:23- No, 2:51 wishes he was even THAT pathetic.

Posted by Anonymous | May 21, 2013 11:45 PM

4:44-I see what you did there. How original.

Posted by Anonymous | May 21, 2013 11:46 PM

2:26pm Youth Of Today should stop playing because like Judge they're not straightedge yet preached it from the highest mountaintops and front like they're straightedge. Age is irrelevant.

The Who??? LOL. You're a fucking idiot.

2:42pm Yo fu ckhead I don't meet women on match.com like you, I meet them in real life, and they beat any Facebook/Twitter/Instagram slu ts you've ever had (if you've had any.)

You can do whatever you want. You wanna support phonies, go ahead, be my guest. You never got or will get hardcore.

John Joseph is the one who needs to move on. He plays music Harley co-wrote under a name Harley came up with and runs his mouth about Harley, even goes so far as to set up Harley for a beating that was never delivered, just a knife wound by a coward who couldn't fight Harley one-on-one without a weapon or his boys backing him...wait...that's John Joseph, too, along with DMS LOL.

2:51pm Your "hardcore is for kids" bit is played out. Come up with something new jerkof f.

3:05pm/XTAINTX Just stop. You can never be sick of it all haha. Seriously, just stop. Sick Of It All is the sincerest NYHC band that ever existed and you're an as s for questioning their integrity.

Posted by D | May 22, 2013 2:28 AM

2:28 is furiously typing with two fingers. You need to go back to community college and get your associates; your grammar, or lack of, is embarrassing.

Bet you're from Strong Island to boot!

In all seriousness, I'm glad Token Entry hasn't come back to play. If they tried to make money talking about Tokens when we're all stuck using MetroCards? Fuck. No respect for the underground city travelers.

The above info is true and verifiable (a friend must've leaked it before we could post it and sent it to D.)

However, the email address is not and it's not D's mistake, it's ours.

Hit us up at this email NOT the above one:

fordambaldiesnyhc@gmail.com

Apologies to whoever owns the incorrect email!

FordamBaldiesNYHC.com, FordamBaldiesNYHC on Facebook and @FordamBaldNYHC coming soon!

As for what it sounds like, we are who we are and have done what we've done.

We will debut on the 2014 Black 'N' Blue Bowl playing first and just the 7", no covers or special/secret/surprise guests. The Bowl will also be our record release show and the ENTIRE first pressing of 1000 copies on black and blue vinyl, a 2014 Black 'N' Blue Bowl only special copy given out only at the Bowl (and outside of it to friends only) will be given out to the first 1000 people who enter the club (you get a ticket then claim it before or at show's end if you don't want to carry it during the show.) Each record will be numbered 1 to 1000.

Thanks!

FBNYHC

Posted by Fordam Baldies NYHC | May 24, 2013 12:46 AM

what's a record collecting scumbag supposed to do if he wants a copy and can't make it to the show? How about I shave and wax everything below my waist, and send you some pics via email?

Posted by Anonymous | May 24, 2013 3:39 AM

This "band" could've been awesome....in 1989.

*Gavin should be on guitar and that Porcell guy should be his guitar tech.

Posted by Cy_Spurling | May 24, 2013 5:10 AM

We're looking for a drummer with a bald HEAD (to the guy who wants to email us a nude.)

Every pressing will be a different color. Actually the second pressing will be melon.

If there are remaining copies on black and blue (or we should say Black 'N' Blue : ) after the show and we give them out to friends, they will be shipped back to Revelation who will sell them via their mailorder site RevHQ.com, first come first served.

Btw the 2014 BNB Bowl will most likely be our lone East Coast appearance, so if you want to see us live on the East Coast you'll have to come to the show.

Peace!

FBNYHC

Posted by Fordam Baldies NYHC | May 24, 2013 12:22 PM

Dearest Cy,

Actually, Gavin will be playing guitar as well but only on future recordings.

Btw this is Todd the manager/booker/roadie for the band here (I used to roadie for Judge the first time around.)

As you know or may not know, way back in the early-mid 80s Porcell and Gavin did a hardcore band together called Young Republicans whose sole release, a 7", was reissued by a label who's name escapes me - it might still be available. They always wanted to do a band together again and wanted Tom to be in the band, too. Tom immediately wanted in. The only way Porcell, Gavin, and Tom could be in a band together is if one of them played bass since none of them want to sing or can play drums. Porcell can play bass - he played bass for Gorilla Biscuits briefly towards their initial end in 91-92 - but Gavin has more experience playing bass (Die 116 etc.)

This first record will be written entirely by Porcell since he is the founder but expect the next/second one (another four-songer) to be written by Tom and Gavin (two songs apiece.)

Todd/FBNYHC
