Uncle Acid & The Deadbeats

Its not very often that someone turns to me and says "that sounds like The Beatles." Yet that happened last night on the Invisible Oranges special on East Village Radio (stream it here), when we played a track from Uncle Acid & The Deadbeats's new LP.

Sure the pop-inflection of the Fab Four will be present in virtually any retro-leaning band, but the crunch-y tones may also remind you of bands like Black Sabbath, Blue Cheer and much more. And like the melodies... they tend to get in your head and stay there. The album, Mind Control, is due out May14. For more details on Uncle Acid & The Deadbeats, head over to an interview with the band at InvisibleOranges. Meanwhile, check them out yourself as "Evil Love" is streamable below.

The new album isn't as good as the first, unfortunately. Has its moments, tho.

More Heavy Metal Rutles than Beatles.

Snooze....another pious attempt to emmulate past legends. This is the reason rock, metal etc is dead and has been dead for many moons..

If you think metal is dead, just keep telling yourself that.

You're the expert, tell me why metal isn't dead? Perhaps dead is the wrong word, a joke would be more appropriate.

Metal is better than Indie I guess.

High On Fire comes to mind as a band that is pushing the limits, Lemmy is still alive and making great albums. Uncle Acid I think are making a good contribution. I loved the first album. This single is different, but not bad. I guess I am just trying to say that Metal as a genre is spreading far and wide(as usual) and I like what is happening these days.

Now Black Sabbath coming to town as a Reunion w/o Bill. Fuck that shit.
$81-130 here in TX.
Suck it Sharon,
love you Toni and Geez
but fuck Ozzy+Sharon
