Deafheaven at Saint Vitus, Feb 2013 (more by Lukas Hodge)
Deafheaven

With their 7/2 Saint Vitus show now sold-out, Deafheaven have now added another show with Marriages in NYC. Just in time for the end of the fireworks display, 285 Kent will open on July 4 with doors at 10PM, featuring an all-ages show with the pair and one more "special guest" to be announced. Tickets are on sale for this InvisibleOranges event.

Updated dates and a full stream of the band's triumphant Sunbather is below. If you missed it, you can check out a behind the scenes piece on the making of the LP, a recent interview with the band, and listen in to IO on EVR on Tuesday (6/25, 10 PM EDT) for a live interview.

Updated dates are below.

So few people care about this band that they had to add a second show because the first one sold out in like nine minutes. Anyone disrespecting this band is so stuck in the stone age it's not even funny.

Why?

@10:53, those tickets were on sale for weeks and then Pitchfork BNM'd them and they sold out. I don't want to hear it.

12:48- why on Earth would you care what Pitchfork thinks about a band?

Not to mention 10:53, look at the place they sold out. St. Vitus. Oh god, look out. Next stop MSG.

Damn I'm pretty sure I saw this album cover on a shirt somewhere at like Pacsun or some shit. I wasn't expecting it to be this masterpiece haha.

Been called a "metal hipster" for years. Better than being labelled "kvlt". I wear it as a badge of honour.

What's funny about Deafheaven is that most of their fans aren't even in to metal and think this is the objective conclusion/peak. I'd love to see their faces when they listen to Ne Obliviscaris or The Ocean.
