Patti Smith contributed to the ongoing Federico Garcia Lorca Birthday Celebration with her show at Bowery Ballroom on Wednesday (6/5). The show opened the show with a Federico Garcia Lorca poetry reading, and then Patti and her band kicked into a set which included a number of classic Patti Smith tunes — “Ask the Angles, Redondo Beach,” “Pissing in a River” — and a bunch of covers too, like “Summertime Blues.” Other band members took the lead vocal on some of the covers as well.
