Queens of the Stone Age

Queens of the Stone Age released their new album, ...Like Clockwork, this week (6/4) and have been doing some celebrating for it in the NYC-area. They already performed "Live on Letterman" on Wednesday (6/5), and then last night (6/6) they stopped by Ford, NJ's Vintage Vinyl for an in-store. The setlist included five tracks off their new album, early classic "Monsters in the Parasol," and some material off their last two releases. The full setlist is below with more pictures from the record store show.

As mentioned, QOTSA continue their album release week celebrations with a show at Brooklyn Masonic Temple TONIGHT (6/7). That show went on sale yesterday and is now entirely sold out.

More pictures and the setlist from Vintage Vinyl below...

Always loved Vintage Vinyl, used to go on my lunch break to buy records/cd's; and, the Italian Deli a few doors down has the best sandwiches.

no Nick Oliveri, no Dave Grohl? What is it? An 'imposture'!
I am glad I didn't waste my time.

I'll take Jon Theodore over Grohl any day.

I wish I could have been there. Thank you for posting the photos and set list. That was a really rare event. Most bands go for signings and don't usually play. This new album is incredible from start to finish! The band sounds great.

Princeton Record Exchange is a great shop too.

Second commenter = cutesy little asshole.

EVERY QOTSA fan I've ever met is a hopeless guitar nerd, so get used to it.

I'm curious about that Ryder guitar, too, but know nothing about it.

Just as cool, though, is the green-and-black 12-string that Troy plays. It's by Burns (also sometimes known as Baldwin), a British company. The model is called the Double Six. It's made in China, and yet it's fucking awesome. (Gear made in China always seems to be either amazing or the worst shit you've ever played in your life.) It costs around 800 bucks, and at that price, it's a steal. Doesn't sound like a Ric, or anything else. Lots of tone possibilities.

The Ryder guitar is made by Motor Ave. 4500 bucks and a year wait.

Posted by Anonymous | June 7, 2013 12:59 PM

too bad the new album sux

Posted by Anonymous | June 7, 2013 1:06 PM

Ryder is his kid's name, or middle name, or something. So that's probably just a little vanity inlay on the headstock.

Posted by Anonymous | June 7, 2013 1:09 PM

if you think the new album sucks, then you're silly. listen again. it's definitely worth hearing.

and from the above, this seems like the only legit record store left in the world. like empire records and 2013 had a baby.

"this seems like the only legit record store left in the world. like empire records and 2013 had a baby."

Somebody doesn't get out much.

It's nice to see so many smiles in the audience. That store takes me back in time.

Posted by Anonymous | June 8, 2013 12:51 PM

Original setlist for the show was 14 songs starting with lost art, no one knows, and sick sick sick - cut to 9 songs - would've been pissed if i went

Posted by Anonymous | June 8, 2013 1:30 PM

I must wear my belt on the side from now on out

Posted by Anonymous | June 8, 2013 2:09 PM

5:02 this ain't caveman times. Wives don't get stolen, they choose the man they want more.

Posted by Dot | June 8, 2013 2:41 PM

vintage vinyl = greatness

Posted by Anonymous | June 8, 2013 3:38 PM

1:30 is an idiot, first off how did you know they were slated to play more songs? and second off maybe if this is true they cut the set short so they could do a signing and meet some of their biggest fans

Posted by Anonymous | June 12, 2013 8:00 PM

"maybe if this is true they cut the set short so they could do a signing and meet some of their biggest fans"

Biggest fans? Judging from the pictures, they all look pretty young. I wouldn't call anyone that jumped on the bandwagon late (Songs for the Deaf on) as biggest fans.

Posted by Anonymous | June 12, 2013 8:20 PM

the foo fighters played a record store?

Posted by Anonymous | June 24, 2013 6:44 PM

Jesus someones gotta a boner for the bassist (the least important one)...

Posted by G | June 25, 2013 12:36 AM

I thought I'd never recommend a new band to anyone,´╗┐ but if anyone here enjoys Go With the Flow, you should really check out this band called 'Pointless Compass', bloody fantastic.
