Pity Sex

As mentioned, Ann Arbor's Pity Sex are releasing their debut album, Feast of Love, next week (6/25) via Run for Cover (Cloakroom, Creative Adult), and you can now stream the record in full a week before its release in this post. Feast of Love is similar to the contemporary shoegaze pop of The Pains of Being Pure at Heart, and like on that band's most recent album, Belong, the guitars are thick and recall Siamese Dream more than any of the wailing on Loveless. The melodies really pop and the songs are memorable too. Check out the whole album below.

As discussed, Pity Sex are supporting the new album on a tour with The World Is... and Dads, which includes a NYC show at Brooklyn emo house Suburbia on July 20. That show and a few others are also with Daylight.

Updated dates are listed, along with the new album stream, below...

PITY SEX. What a horrible fucking name.

I don't agree. I think it's one of the band names, if not the best, that I've ever heard.

Posted by Blaine | June 18, 2013 3:57 PM

you're probably a horrible fucking idiot if you judge a band solely based on their name. :-)

What happened to the more abrasive sound of the EP? This is far more boring three songs in. At the sixth one now. This is the sound of defeat, which I can't really relate to. Emotionless. Did they change the Male vocalist? They had a nice balance before with a harsh male voice and elegant female voice. Now they just have two light and airy voices. The EP made me sing along and this just makes me want to yawn. So disappointed. St. John's Wort is pretty good. Oh well.

These songs are great. The bands they're touring with have some of the worst names in music.

I agree with John. This is terrible compared to their ep. Very disappointing.

I think Pity Sex is a great name. And their music great. I don't know why every time I'm looking at their stuff all anyone ever talks about is their name. It's a perfect name for an emo band. That being said, this is a bit of a let down. Still good but too emotionless. And Dads is awesome. Like really awesome.

this is such a let down
