The Remains @ The Bell House - 6/7/13
The Remains

'60s Boston garage rockers The Remains came to NYC for a show at the Bell House on Friday (6/7) with '80s/'90s NYC garage rockers The A-Bones (who featured Ira Kaplan of Yo La Tengo and the owners of Norton Records). Both bands were introduced by Lenny Kaye of Patti Smith's band (who also just played). Pictures, including ones of the setlists (though The A-Bones replaced "Steady with Betty" with "Real True Love" on theirs) are in this post.

They were never the same after Norman Smart left the band........

Norman Smart was a fill in drummer for the 1966 tour. Chip Damiano is the MAN!

These cats were really onto something here. A band with this kind of sound didn't exist for another 15 years! This wasn't 60s Punk, this was 60s New Wave!
