Brazil's CSS released their fourth album, Planta, about a month ago, which was produced by Dave Sitek and found the band exploring some new sonic territory. Live, though, the band remain in full party mode with singer Lovefoxxx front and center. She was in full effect last night at Bowery Ballroom, the first of two NYC shows on the band's tour. Through more than a couple costume changes, she and the band hit some of Planta's highlights while working in favorites like "Music is My Hot Hot Sex," "Hits Me Like a Rock," and "Let's Make Love and Listen to Death from Above." (What no "Alala"?) Setlist below.

Los Angeles' IO Echo got the crowd warmed up and will do so again when CSS play tonight (7/9) at Brooklyn Bowl. Tickets are still available.

Pictures of IO Echo's set, plus lots more of CSS, below...

Wooaahh. What a shitty, misogynistic comment, 1:41. Disgusted over here. Good job at being a creep.

Dear 2:22pm,
The BKvegan community of commenters have one sole purpose in life, to stir up shit. A hummus comment is predicted to come next. Just watch the reaction to anything posted about radiohead, or any female artist. Trolls seeking emotional erections. Best to leave them be.

Enjoyed this show from the balcony, nibbling on my Sabra hummus platter. Ooh yes.

Awful band. The epitome of mid 00s brooklyn hipster wannabes.
I'd still lick her shit stinkin' slit though.

This song is awesome, really catchy in the entire blending. This band is capable to mix alternative and electronics, I can't set CSS albums into a particular category owing to a too wide range of styles they come across. I definitely take them out of rock, but thinking of them like an electronic band sounds unusual as well. We might easily argue about a new kind of music, easier said than shown.

actually, i have a white cat with this condition, it's called monochromia, (i may have misspelled that) and it only slightly effects the hearing and vision, not to the point of being deaf or blind. people can be monochromatic as well, and usually it just means that their inner ear on one side is slightly malformed and one eye is a different color. occasionally you'll see a monochromatic cat that is deaf, but usually not. just so you know, not trying to be a know it all or anything...
