Bear in Heaven at Bowery Ballroom on Tuesday (more by Greg Cristman)Bear in Heaven

Kent Avenue club Glasslands is turning seven this summer and they're throwing a birthday party on July 25 with live sets from Bear in Heaven and Quinn Walker and DJ sets from Lemonade and Aaron of Rewards. It's $5 at the door but you do need to RSVP.

As you may know, Bear in Heaven just wrapped up their tour with Wire, having played Bowery Ballroom on Tuesday (7/16). And if you want to see Lemonade play live instead of DJ, they'll be at Mercury Lounge next Saturday (7/27) with Selebrities. That show is free but you need to RSVP via the Thrillcall mobile app.

Quite an accomplishment for a DIY venue with that many shows

Boring in Heaven

No.

I don't think I could live through seeing Bear in Heaven again. I'm still angry that I was subjected to these boring hipsters the other night.

These guys are so in love with themselves that they have to point out how many of their die-hard fans (friends) are in the audience. I feel sorry for the drummer, because he has to carry the weight of this band on his back.

that place sucks with a capital "S"

after reading all of the hate in the comments on the Wire thread I think I'll pass.

this venue changed so much since it opened... in a bad way. once upon a time, it was my favorite place to play and go see shows. now every time i go there the headlining band that everyone's there to see gets cut off early so they can kick everyone out before midnight and charge a new group of fuckfaces to come in and bask in the glory of some run of the mill hipster dj. might as well be The Knitting Factory at this point. i'm just glad DBA didn't go down the same path. that place still rules.

It's hot out, you're overwrought, go lay down before you give yourself a nosebleed.

That's one doggy year.

419 You could have gone downstairs. I did during the 2nd song. A totally shit band.

I don't believe this club is "DIY". you all fucking suck. go move somewhere where doing something doesn't involve checking a mirror first. The only thing possibly worse than this venue or this band is you fucks for crying about it.

Posted by Anonymous | July 19, 2013 10:02 AM

tuesday night was a horror in the place - it was hotter in there than outside - even the people working in there looked annoyed

the promoter said the artist requested no noise from airconditioner - that's bull cause he asked for it - came on for two minutes and then shut off - i left early which i never do

first and last time
