Minus the Bear at Sasquatch 2010 (more by Chris Graham)
Minus the Bear

Long-running math/emo band Minus the Bear released an Acoustics EP back in 2008, which consisted of acoustic versions of previously released tracks (and one new one), and now the band is prepping that EP's followup, Acoustics II. This one will be a full length, and is set to feature eight of the band's previously released tracks redone acoustically and two new ones. You can pledge pre-orders of the album on PledgeMusic. The album art is below.

Minus the Bear also just announced a tour, which includes a September run with Tera Melos and The New Trust, and an October/November run with INVSN and Slow Bird. The second leg hits NYC on October 25 at Best Buy Theater. Tickets for the NYC show are on presale now and go on sale to the general public on Friday (7/12) at noon. All tour dates are listed below.

In related news, fellow '00s-rooted emo-leaning indie band mewithoutYou, who MTB have toured with before, also have a tour coming up. Their tour hits Brooklyn on August 23 at The Bell House. Tickets for that show go on sale Friday (7/12) at noon.

All dates for both tours are listed, along with some videos, below...

People still care about this band?

Posted by Anonymous | July 11, 2013 11:32 AM

Put this foolishness to rest and resurrect BOTCH. i don't want to hear any more songs about this guy getting drunk or having sex.

Posted by Anonymous | July 11, 2013 12:16 PM

math/emo? That might be the most off-putting descriptor I've ever seen.

Posted by Anonymous | July 11, 2013 12:49 PM

they have some good songs, I consider them very bro-y for some reason

Posted by Anonymous | July 11, 2013 1:32 PM

1:32 -- oh nice. good reasoning. also: suck the fattest dick in the world, herb.

I'm with 10:53, SKM was a much better band, a reunion would be titz

There is nothing "Emo" about this band. Pointless lyrics. This band would be far better off instrumental. At least they aren't Cold Cave, though.

i saw these guys once and after 20 minutes of constant finger tapping and the singer whining about beer and chicks i checked out of there...

These are the most ridiculous and clueless comments I've seen in quite awhile. This band writes outstanding music, the singer has a great voice and the players are all high caliber. If you can't appreciate the musicality of Into the Mirror, My Timne, Listing and Throwing Shapes then your incapable of recognizing outstanding melody, harmonic structure and inventive arrangements. Check out the live at darryl's house episode with these guys which is available in the archives. Listen to it loud. If that doesn't register with you then I don't know why you listen to music int he first place.

"Check out the live at darryl's house episode" is my favorite BV line of the year. What a douche! Classic. Congratulations.

me dumb, small brain only register finger tapping and sub prog bullshit. duhhhh. me thank 11:06 for setting me on right path...

Les Pauls can make even the lamest bands look cool.

Minus the Bear a throwback. The INVSN tour dates will be the ones to hit forsure. Check out their self titled new album.

You all will love the new INVSN video. "Down in the Shadows" is my favorite track off of their album! http://smarturl.it/INVSN_Shadows
