Antibalas at Capitol Theatre in 2012 (more by Greg Cristman)

Music Frees All Festival returns to various NYC venues this weekend (7/17-21) including Bowery Electric, Rockwood Music Hall, and The Bell House. The main event of the festival happens on Saturday (7/20) at the Bell House with Antibalas, The Stepkids, Pegasus Warning, and DJ Prince Paul. Tickets for that individual show are on sale now, as are tickets for the entire festival. Proceeds will go to help producer Scotty Hard (De La Soul, Black Sheep, etc) who, in 2008, was paralyzed from the chest down after a stolen car broadsided the taxi he was in. If you'd like to go for free, we're also giving away a free festival pass. Details on how to enter to win are below.

Other artists playing this weekend include Xenia Rubinos, Cuddle Magic, EMEFE, Chicha Libre, Zongo Junction and more. Full lineup and flyer below...

i want to hate this guys for using felas mojo, but i cant, they are pretty good. however u guys better give the credit to the country that invented this style of music, and more importantly the artist who pioneered this music.
