Hate how they hold back dates so Festivals can sell their tickets (I am looking at you Voodoo Fest)

Can't wait to pay over 80 bucks to sit in the nosebleeds! Really sticking it to TM!

Posted by Anonymous | July 8, 2013 2:41 PM

Mookie Blaylock to open select dates!

Posted by NBA Commisioner(!) | July 8, 2013 2:45 PM

Why is this band still touring?

Posted by Anonymous | July 8, 2013 2:51 PM

Almost looks like Eddie has a bald spot in that photo.

Posted by Anonymous | July 8, 2013 2:52 PM

Whatever, I'll go and have a blast, even if I'm in the suck-dick section (i.e. not the floor).

Posted by Anonymous | July 8, 2013 2:56 PM

2:51, because people still go to see them. Lots of people. They sold out Wrigley Field (happening next weekend) faster than any other band. Also, because they play a different set every night, so diehard fans will go to multiple shows.

Posted by Anonymous | July 8, 2013 3:02 PM

will they try to make these shows part of CMJ 2013??

Posted by Anonymous | July 8, 2013 3:06 PM

How come American festivals are so terrible at booking bands/artists....

Posted by Anonymous | July 8, 2013 3:06 PM

@3:06...Because we're too busy being the last remaining world superpower!!!

***crickets***

Posted by Anonymous | July 8, 2013 3:10 PM

2:51-you are a jackass.

Posted by Anonymous | July 8, 2013 3:13 PM

Haters, do yourself a favor and go see this band. They truly are one of the great live rock acts out there. New bands could learn a few things from them about how to perform live.

Posted by Anonymous | July 8, 2013 3:21 PM

insert ticketmaster joke here

Posted by Anonymous | July 8, 2013 3:24 PM

Pearl Jam are one of the greatest live bands out there. No lasers or gimmicks. Just balls out rock. They change their setlist every night and they're one of the few bands than gets better with age. They are all about the music and their fans.

Posted by Anonymous | July 8, 2013 3:34 PM

Worth every dollar

Posted by Anonymous | July 8, 2013 3:40 PM

They never disappoint. Being a huge fan of their music from Ten on, they play something from every album which is rare for bands these days.

Posted by Anonymous | July 8, 2013 3:43 PM

Whoa, they change their set list EVERY night. That's a REAL band right there. "Hey Eddie, instead of playing [insert really boring song here] second tonight, let's move it to number 12, and then take [insert incredibly awful song here] and play it during that encore." "Dude," Eddie said, "that sounds like a SICK idea, we're such a good live band."

Posted by Anonymous | July 8, 2013 3:44 PM

3:44 has never seen Pearl Jam live

Posted by Anonymous | July 8, 2013 3:46 PM

remember when these sell outs made an album you could only buy at Target?

Posted by Anonymous | July 8, 2013 3:47 PM

going to this
don't care what you all say
stay home and listen to Arcade Fire on vinyl

Posted by Anonymous | July 8, 2013 3:47 PM

@3:47, That Target-only myth was killed long ago but for some reason people insist on making it out o be true. Target had the big box exclusive. That album was available at all indie record stores.

Posted by Anonymous | July 8, 2013 3:52 PM

3:47 spot on. You haters can listen to Grizzly Bear and weep that they aren't playing your mom's basement.

Posted by Anonymous | July 8, 2013 3:53 PM

Pumped. They usually bring along a pretty great opener too. The past few years I've seen Social Distortion, Bad Religion, Black Keys, Band of Horses, My Morning Jacket, Sparta, and Ted Leo. Not bad.

Posted by Anonymous | July 8, 2013 4:03 PM

3:44- I am ambivalent about Pearl Jam, but you REALLY come across as a twat. Just saying.

Posted by Anonymous | July 8, 2013 4:04 PM

Didn't Eddie Vedder molest that guy from Phish?

Posted by Anonymous | July 8, 2013 4:07 PM

yeah it wasn't a Target only thing. if you bought their album at Target a percentage of the sale went to provide needy schools with supplies.

Posted by A | July 8, 2013 4:12 PM

@ 4:07. No, that was your mom.

Posted by Anonymous | July 8, 2013 4:14 PM

4:07's mom and 3:44 molested that guy from Phish with Grizzly Bear and Arcade Fire watching.

Posted by Anonymous | July 8, 2013 4:25 PM

Campbell Scott

Posted by Anonymous | July 8, 2013 4:40 PM

@3:46 i've seen Pearl Jam twice, the first time was right before "Alive" became a huge hit at my college (yup, i'm old) and the second was Lollapalooza (the one that toured. still old). as far as i'm concerned that's when they were 'good.' I was honestly trying to prove a point that just because a band plays a different set every night does not make them a good live band. It's a great thing to do, but plenty of amazing bands play pretty much the same set every night.

Posted by Anonymous | July 8, 2013 4:43 PM

4:43 you're still a douche. Don't try and deny it.

Posted by Anonymous | July 8, 2013 4:50 PM

4:43 obviously hasn't listened to anything by Pearl Jam beyond Vs. or Vitalogy which makes all his comments invalid.

Posted by Anonymous | July 8, 2013 4:54 PM

BV crowd isn't into this because the band doesn't have a doe eyed girl in a flower dress staring at a laptop

Posted by Anonymous | July 8, 2013 5:20 PM

i used to love these guys when i was younger...stopped caring when they started charging obnoxious prices for their live shows years after the whole Ticketmaster debacle.

Posted by Anonymous | July 8, 2013 5:27 PM

Eddie Vedder is worth $80 million.
All his bitching about TM is a farce.

Posted by Anonymous | July 8, 2013 5:36 PM

No, what makes them a great live band is not only that they change their set every night (which, as you mentioned a terrible band can also do) but that intangible feeling their fans get when seeing them. I know you probably feel like they're "bro rock" and that's cool. All of us that are going are still going to have an awesome time regardless of whatever any troll Brooklynvegan commenter says.

Posted by Anonymous | July 8, 2013 6:34 PM

Yeahyayyy yaayy-yaaay yeeaaaahhhhh

Posted by Anonymous | July 8, 2013 6:41 PM

5:36, he stopped bitching about Ticketmaster a long time ago. Since then he grew up and embraced capitalism. More power to him.

Posted by Anonymous | July 8, 2013 7:09 PM

I saw Pearl Jam at the Tibet Freedom Concert in Washington DC back in 1998. I was never a huge fan, but they put on a really solid show that won me over. In fact, I thought they were better than Radiohead who also played.

Posted by Anonymous | July 8, 2013 9:01 PM

I don't why people care about this band. Haven't had a good album since Vs.

Posted by Anonymous | July 8, 2013 9:32 PM

251 Why are you still posting?

Posted by Anonymous | July 8, 2013 9:35 PM

This:

"No, what makes them a great live band is not only that they change their set every night (which, as you mentioned a terrible band can also do) but that intangible feeling their fans get when seeing them."

LOL.

Posted by Anonymous | July 8, 2013 9:49 PM

They play great but are short on great songs. As for Voodoo Fest, it's a great big ripoff!

Posted by Anonymous | July 8, 2013 10:01 PM

^ short on great songs?

You are short on intelligence.

Posted by Anonymous | July 8, 2013 10:27 PM

Iron Maiden and Pearl Jam are my favorite bands.

Posted by Anonymous | July 8, 2013 10:43 PM

1027 So why don't they sell much since their 1st few cd's in the 90's? They had a few great tunes early on but not many since - that's why!

Posted by Anonymous | July 8, 2013 11:31 PM

does anybody know if tix will be on TM or Livenation? some shows are listed in LV
also saw that most shows have assigned seats, which I guess would be better for Barclays?

Posted by Anonymous | July 9, 2013 11:35 AM

Pearl Jam fans are such dweebs.

Posted by Anonymous | July 9, 2013 11:41 AM

VOODOO EXPERIENCE 2013- will be an amazing show.

Posted by Jessie Backila | July 10, 2013 12:43 PM

According to an email from the TenClub (I'm a PJ nerd) all shows will have a GA section that will take up 1/3 to 1/2 of the floor and will only be open to Ten Club Members.

I still requested reserved seating. I'm an old PJ nerd.

does the singer still do that thing where he shapes his mouth so that every syllable comes out sounding like the letter R?

Posted by Anonymous | July 11, 2013 1:28 AM

I didn't realize this one had the tempo changed when I first checked it out. I'd never heard LB before. Now when I listen to the real version it doesn't sound right to me.
