Pixies at Wellmont Theatre in 2011 (more by Dana (distortion) Yavin)
Pixies

The Kim Deal-less Pixies announced the European leg of a world tour earlier this month, so it was only a matter of time before North American dates were announced. First, they were announced for Chicago's totally killer Riot Fest (with Replacements, Dinosaur Jr., Rancid, Blondie, Violent Femmes, Bad Religion, Rocket From the Crypt, etc), and now four small NYC shows have been announced!

The NYC shows happen on September 17, 18, and 20 at Bowery Ballroom and September 19 at Music Hall of Williamsburg. Brooklyn's great indie rockers Parquet Courts open the 9/20 show, Reignwolf (who recently opened for Dinosaur Jr.) open the 9/17 and 9/18 shows, and Meg Myers opens the 9/19 show. Tickets for night 1, night 2, night 3, and night 4 are on Band Presale now (password: "bagboy") and they go on sale to the general public on Saturday (7/27) at 10 AM.

Taking Kim Deal's place on this tour is another indie rock Kim, Kim Shattuck of The Muffs, who play their first of two NYC-area shows tonight (7/25).

Pixies also just released a second music video for their new song, "Bagboy," because "who says you can't have two videos for a song?" Check out the new video (via Rolling Stone), along with the list of all tour dates, below.

Not that I'll be going--I mean, who cares about a Deal-less Pixies-- but the email about these tickets literally says "Please do not spread this information."

Posted by Anonymous | July 25, 2013 10:26 AM

More like Pixie$$$$. They totally turned their backs on Deep Wound, The Outpatients, and All White Jury. F them.

Posted by Anonymous | July 25, 2013 10:26 AM

password won't work!

Posted by Anonymous | July 25, 2013 10:26 AM

Password not working for me...

Posted by Anonymous | July 25, 2013 10:27 AM

bagboy aint workin!

Posted by Anonymous | July 25, 2013 10:28 AM

Yeah, nothing is on sale at any of those links...

Posted by Anonymous | July 25, 2013 10:28 AM

The ticket link provided don't allow the presale password.

The only ticket link where "bagboy" works is if the page says "Psst... this is your private offer."

Posted by Anonymous | July 25, 2013 10:30 AM

"The Pixies"

Posted by Anonymous | July 25, 2013 10:32 AM

cobralegs!

Posted by Anonymous | July 25, 2013 10:33 AM

so how the hell did anyone get an email about this? i'm on every pixies mailing list

Posted by Anonymous | July 25, 2013 10:35 AM

I suppose charging $45 per ticket with no fees added on is somewhat more reasonable than a $30 ticket with $15 in service charges.

Posted by Anonymous | July 25, 2013 10:35 AM

Dunkaccin O)))

Posted by Anonymous | July 25, 2013 10:36 AM

How scalpable are these? Think I can get $75?

Posted by Anonymous | July 25, 2013 10:37 AM

So has anyone found a password that works?

Posted by Anonymous | July 25, 2013 10:38 AM

Posted by Anonymous | July 25, 2013 10:39 AM

Posted by Anonymous | July 25, 2013 10:40 AM

Ah, ok. Just typed that in, but it still didn't work, guess you have to click through directly. Thanks anyway.

Posted by Anonymous | July 25, 2013 10:44 AM

Posted by Anonymous | July 25, 2013 10:45 AM

Posted by Anonymous | July 25, 2013 10:46 AM

Posted by Anonymous | July 25, 2013 10:46 AM

Posted by Anonymous | July 25, 2013 10:49 AM

Posted by Anonymous | July 25, 2013 10:49 AM

1048 you're helping no real fans, this is scalper haven.

Posted by Anonymous | July 25, 2013 10:49 AM

Nice job with the password BV

Posted by Anonymous | July 25, 2013 10:53 AM

@10:49, I'm a fan and I appreciated it. Although, I'm not saying you're necessarily wrong that it should not be released.

Posted by Anonymous | July 25, 2013 10:55 AM

anyone else notice that this is the only hump where the breeders have an opening (they have no dates from september 2 through september 27th).

farewell shows? last hurrah?

Posted by Anonymous | July 25, 2013 10:56 AM

pretty sure the email said, DONT spread this around the web so FANS can get TICKETS...you posted this within half an hour!

Posted by Anonymous | July 25, 2013 10:57 AM

is nothing sacred?

Posted by Anonymous | July 25, 2013 10:58 AM

friday is clearly the show. didn't parquet courts fill bowery by themselves a few months ago?

Posted by Anonymous | July 25, 2013 10:59 AM

From the Pixies email:
"Please do not spread this information across Social Media, as we would like to ensure that as many of you as possible get the chance to purchase tickets first."

Dick move, BV.

Posted by Anonymous | July 25, 2013 11:00 AM

10:56 I hope so.

Posted by Anonymous | July 25, 2013 11:00 AM

Because of 10:48 I got a ticket. I could only get one, must have been the last one. Thanks 1048!

Posted by Anonymous | July 25, 2013 11:00 AM

Not really a dick move by BV, as none of those links actually worked.

Posted by Anonymous | July 25, 2013 11:01 AM

I've heard from a reliable source that Kim Deal is, in fact, playing these shows. These will be her last with the band. There will be no formal announcement, but you all will know the deal (zing) after the Tuesday show takes place.

Posted by Anonymous | July 25, 2013 11:01 AM

Add this to the end of the URL (no quotes) to get the presale to work: "?did=bandpre"

Posted by Anonymous | July 25, 2013 11:07 AM

Oh, and PS, tickets are still available to the 18th and 19th shows.

Posted by Anonymous | July 25, 2013 11:10 AM

I just got one for Friday night, now there is no more for Friday on the presale....now how do I explain to my wife she isnt going......

Posted by Anonymous | July 25, 2013 11:10 AM

11:10 you could buy one off craigslist/stubhub and not be a cheap husband. or try during the general onsale.

Posted by Anonymous | July 25, 2013 11:14 AM

I will try on Saturday of course to get my wife a ticket, I am not a douchebag.

Posted by Anonymous | July 25, 2013 11:15 AM

THANKS BV <3

Posted by Anonymous | July 25, 2013 11:18 AM

Ah, inter-fan politics. Fingers crossed for Saturday.

Posted by Steven Kaiser | July 25, 2013 11:24 AM

Just scored 2 for 9/18!

Posted by Anonymous | July 25, 2013 11:26 AM

no 19th

Posted by Anonymous | July 25, 2013 11:46 AM

Nothing. Tried everything. If you scalp, you're a dick. Scalpers deserve to die.

Posted by God | July 25, 2013 11:48 AM

SCALPERS READ BROOKLYN VEGAN FOR CRAP TO BUY. ITS USUALLY THE SCALPERS WHO ARE TOO STUPID TO DO ANY RESEARCH THEMSELVES SO THEY RELY ON A SITE TO TELL THEM WHAT TO BUY. THOSE GARBAGE SCALPERS WHO RELY MOSTLY ON G.A. SHOWS

Posted by haha | July 25, 2013 11:51 AM

Is Black Francis selling them on stubhub already????

Posted by Anonymous | July 25, 2013 11:53 AM

I love all the Pixies bashing, followed immediately by SOLD OUT.

Wise to the game, amateur trolls. It's been done better before.

Posted by Anonymous | July 25, 2013 11:58 AM

11:15 - Your sentence structure is unacceptable!

Posted by Anonymous | July 25, 2013 12:09 PM

Can someone forward me the email morr686@gmail.com
Thanks!

Posted by Anonymous | July 25, 2013 12:09 PM

I was able to get 2 tickets for the show on Wednesday at Bowery but would prefer the Tuesday show, if anyone wants to trade send me an email. goldbuyerforyou@yahoo.com

Posted by Anonymous | July 25, 2013 12:17 PM

No one wants to go to the Wednesday or Thursday shows, dude.

Posted by Anonymous | July 25, 2013 12:20 PM

Y'all have some weak-ass e-mail addresses.

Posted by Anonymous | July 25, 2013 12:41 PM

"Nothing. Tried everything. If you scalp, you're a dick. Scalpers deserve to die."

Then half the bands you love deserve to die.

Posted by Trust me. | July 25, 2013 12:46 PM

You usually know a band is scalping their own tickets when they aren't rocking will-call only for a show that should blatantly be will-call only.

Posted by Anonymous | July 25, 2013 12:59 PM

I am a lifelong fan but they are really boring live. For reals. Just listen to the records.

Posted by Anonymous | July 25, 2013 1:20 PM

1259 Why should it be "blatantly" will-call only? This band has played a million shows over the last bunch of years. Big deal it's at the Bowery. Without K

"Then half the bands you love deserve to die"

Proof or it didn't happen

Posted by Anonymous | July 25, 2013 1:39 PM

1259 Why should it be "blatantly" will-call only? This band has played a million shows over the last bunch of years. I lost count how many times that I saw them. Big deal it's at the Bowery. Without Kim Deal, they are just the Black Francis band. I'd go but wouldn't really care if I couldn't get a ticket.

Posted by Anonymous | July 25, 2013 1:41 PM

1:39 there's actually ample proof if you just google it. also i know firsthand how it goes for a lot of these shows.

even when it's will-call only, you'll still have bands cashing in and flipping vip guestlist spots to celebs. you think the band gives a shit if mary kate olsen shows up to their show?

but they full on scalp actual GA tickets when they host an intimate show like this and make it all hard/e-tickets. that's the only way they can cash in on an intimate show - they don't get any money from merch, from actual ticket sales, or anything. any 'intimate' show that isn't will-call only is a huge red flag.

Posted by Anonymous | July 25, 2013 1:44 PM

"1259 Why should it be "blatantly" will-call only? This band has played a million shows over the last bunch of years. I lost count how many times that I saw them. Big deal it's at the Bowery. Because this show is a scalpfest. If you don't think so, you're being naive. Kim Deal regardless, any show with a name this big and a venue this small - and transferable tickets! - will always become a free-for-all shitshow with people paying $$$.

because once you get a big band in a small room, you start getting people who wanna go see them just to be cool and seem cultured (i.e. famous people, rich people, etc.) and it becomes a 'hip' thing to do, or the hot event of the week in nyc, rather than just another concert that people are already willing to pay out the ass over.

And Kim Deal is probably playing, from what I've heard.

THIS.

Posted by Anonymous | July 25, 2013 1:57 PM

"Without Kim Deal, they are just the Black Francis band."

Ummm...no, they are now the Pixeis minus Kim Deal. Not my fault that you have no f--king idea who Dave Lovering and Joey Santiago are!

Posted by Anonymous | July 25, 2013 2:15 PM

I downloaded Bagboy a couple weeks ago, gave them my e-mail address to do so, then today I got an e-mail with a link to buy tickets, which worked. So at least they gave fans a chance to get tickets.

Posted by Anonymous | July 25, 2013 2:34 PM

148 So let them pay scalpers. If you got the money and you really want to go why not. Big deal. Plenty of shows are "scalpfests" and are not will-call only. As for Kim Deal, I highly doubt she will be there. Just another (11:01)internet rumor.
215 Kim was a big part of this band. Face facts, she was more than just the bass player. She added personality and sang a couple of fan faves. I know the whole band - I've been listening to them and going to their shows since their 1st couple of records.

Posted by Anonymous | July 25, 2013 3:38 PM

Bagboy may be the song of the year. One of the 5 best songs in the band's history.

Posted by Anonymous | July 25, 2013 5:18 PM

No Kim Deal, no Pixies, and I doubt she is part of these reunion shows as why be secretive about her involvement? 'Pretty weak the band has created speculation that she'll be on board. Hopefully Kim Deal makes a statement saying she won't be and it's weak that the band has to resort to rumors and gossip to get people to come to the shows.

They're fucked up for not playing their hometown Boston first. They should've played small shows at Royale, Paradise, The Middle East, and The Sinclair first then Riot Fest then whatever after that (NYC etc.) 'Not cool making people in/around Boston have to come to NYC to see you as if most of have the time and money when they don't from being late 30s and up people with families, careers etc.

Posted by D | July 25, 2013 8:06 PM

D, you sound like a really fun guy. Pixies should hire you.

Posted by Anonymous | July 25, 2013 10:51 PM

D fell off the face of the earth for so long and now his punkier than thou attitude is back and gosh did I miss it.

Posted by Anonymous | July 25, 2013 11:56 PM

806 Hey D, now that we are all over feeling sorry for your city after the bombing I have two words for you: FUCK BOSTON!

Posted by Anonymous | July 26, 2013 12:37 AM

why did you publish the presale password when the email explicitly asked media not to do that?

Posted by Anonymous | July 27, 2013 10:32 AM

"why did you publish the presale password when the email explicitly asked media not to do that?"

because nothing is sacred here; welcome to bv homey.

Posted by Anonymous | July 27, 2013 11:02 AM

Cash grab? Pixies have been back together for awhile now, I think it would be time to do a proper, full LP.

These ticket prices are absurd. But as a Muffs fan it's cool seein' Kim Shattuck onstage again.

Posted by jeff | September 13, 2013 6:07 PM

lol that was a random thought, let uwe boll direct that shit and BAM!! we got the movie of the year!!

Posted by Jadiel | May 16, 2014 3:04 AM

lol yah thats kinda something someone else has to call you for you to be cool right its like a nick name you cant give yourself one, but remember folks punk isnt a fashion statement its an attitude.
