Modern Life is War

We already knew Modern Life is War, who reformed last year after a four-year abscence, were on for This is Hardcore in August, but have now announced more US dates and a new LP. The freshly released dates include an NYC stop at The Studio at Webster Hall on October 12 with Night Birds (who play with Zero Boys soon), Deathcycle and Wet Witch. Ticket info is on the way.

The shows are in celebration of the band's new LP Fever Hunting, due for release via Deathwish Inc on September 3.

D coming in with his bad hardcore tastes

Posted by Anonymous | July 29, 2013 3:15 PM

Actually it's you coming in with bad hardcore tastes as Modern Life Is War is one of the most overrated hardcore bands of the last decade. Another hypecore band alongside American Nightmare and No Warning (to name a few.)

Seriously, put AN/NW/MLIW up against say Negative Approach*, Comeback Kid**, and Wisdom In Chains***, and NA/CK/WIC wins hands fucking down.

* Reunion band to pit against reunion band American Nightmare
** Canadian band to pit against Canadian band No Warning.
*** Band who tours their asses off like MLIW did (that I will give MLIW.)

I'll give you AN & No Warning because both bands are very overhyped. But you're comparing MLIW to Comeback Kid and Wisdom In Chains? Wow, both of those bands blow( Wisdom and Comeback Kid, Comeback Kid fell off so hard. Can't comment on Negative Approach because I'm a fan of them. MLIW hasn't had a single bad album.

You are all idiots.

great band.

D, youre a horse's ass. Comeback Kid isn't shit compared to MLIW. Wisdom in Chains is good at what they do, but it's very one-dimensional.

You are the new comic book geeks. All of these bands are awful. And this reunion was inevitable.
*guys in late teens form band
*Guys grow into mid-twenties, hate themselves
*Guys become 30ish, get the band back together to regain sense of self
*Repeat every five years until death

-wisdom in chains was a killing time song.

-negative approach was a negative approach song.

-comeback kid was on victory records.

which statement makes you cringe?
which stament makes you laugh?
which statement makes you thin k that this d character is a dipshit?

I was comparing NA to AN, NA wins, WIC > MLIW, Comeback Kid > No Warning, and good idea not commenting on NA, nerd.

1:14pm OHMIGOD! THANK YOU for telling me what I already know re: the origin of Wisdom In Chains' name! I only heard the song when it came out in '89. Idiot. Someone doesn't know WIC has been a BAND since 2003 huh?

Negative Approach was a band, fucknut.

So what Comeback Kid was on Victory Records? They're still better than No Warning, deal with it.

BTW Kill Your Idols needs to take a fucking hike.

First they play with edgebreakers Judge in NYC now they're playing Chicago for what reason? I thought Andy West was so straightedge he wouldn't grace the stage with phonies like Judge.

Can ya play Long Island where you're from? I mean I won't go as you were the most overrated LIHC band ever but talk about slapping the people where you came from in the face.

D is a grown man that cares about hardcore drama.

Posted by Anonymous | August 2, 2013 2:50 PM

Stoked. Believe the hype. This is one of the best punk/hardcore bands of the last decade.

Posted by Anonymous | August 5, 2013 11:51 AM

It's like Rise Against if they weren't opting for softer lyrics in order to be played on the radio.

what'll it take to get it through to you precious? i'm over this. why you wanna throw it away like this? i don't wanna watch you disconnect and self-destruct one bullet at a time...´╗┐

Posted by Johnson | March 27, 2014 3:02 PM

Dark water is my new favorite song´╗┐

i seriously am in love with this shit. this is the exact kind of band i've always wanted to be in. combination of hardcore and the avant garde. but it's impossible to find people who like both. so i can go fuck myself.
