DOWNLOAD: Fuzz - Loose Sutres (MP3)

Fuzz at DbA, 6/6/2013 (more by Devan Council)

While Ty Segall has a new solo album/tour in August, for the moment he seems to be enjoying playing drums in his other band, the proto-metal leaning trio Fuzz. Following their debut single on Trouble in Mind and a recent tour (where they tore up Death by Audio), Fuzz have just announced their self-titled debut will be out October 1 via In the Red. You can download "Loose Sutres" from the album above, or stream it below. The LP's proggy cover art and tracklist are below too.

After his solo tour in August, Ty will be going out with FUZZ again for a proper North American tour which includes a stop in NYC: October 12 at Mercury Lounge. That and most of the other dates are with CCR Headcleaner, and the Chicago date coincides with The Men and Purling Hiss' just-announced tour. Tickets to the Mercury Lounge show go on sale Friday (7/12) at noon with an AmEx presale starting Wednesday (7/10) at noon. All tour dates are listed below.

it's a crime that none of the songs from the first two singles are on the album

this is insane

One of the singles is on there, but I agree... I would have thought they'd be on the album. I've been waiting for this album since before April! Can not wait!

The single was "Sleigh Ride", the album track is "Sleigh Bells". There's a chance it's the same song, but no way to confirm yet.

Fuzz at Death By Audio was the best show of 2013 so far.

Oct. 13 at DBA. I'm calling it.

Opps! My mistake about the single. I'm thinking they'll play DBA too! I went to the red hook show and then over to DBA, fucking sweet day of Fuzz.

Awesome! However this isn't the full list right? I really hope it's not the other band "fuzz" playing in Birmingham on December 30th! Anyone have any answers?

Man I wish I stuck to playing guitar, the first song sounds so fun to cover.

the drums are usually simplistic, and ty is an excellent drummer, listen to the stuff on the Fuzz record or the White Fence collaboration. I'd argue that Ty's ability to control the musical inputs actually allows him to not only produce a singular vision of music, but do it hyperproductively (think of the rate at which he puts out records). Furthermore, he experiments with various tempos and styles (listen to Manipulator). With his music, it's often more about his masterful ability to regurgitate rad songs that are the sum of his influences (t. rex, hawkwind, stooges, bowie, etc.).
