Blind Boys of Alabama announce tour dates, opening one of the eight NY Black Crowes shows

Blind Boys

As discussed, The Blind Boys of Alabama have been working on a new album with Justin Vernon titled I’ll Find a Way, which will be out via Sony Masterworks on October 1. It features guest appearances from Sam Amidon, Shara Worden of My Brightest Diamond, Merrill Garbus of tUnE-yArDs, Casey Dienel of White Hinterland, and Patty Griffin. You can watch a short-form documentary about the making of the album below.

The Blind Boys of Alabama will also be touring this fall. That includes a stop in NYC opening for The Black Crowes at the second their four Terminal 5 shows (October 26). Tickets for that show are on sale now.

Speaking of, The Black Crowes have lined up interesting openers for all four shows:

October 24: Ray Wylie Hubbard
October 26: Blind Boys of Alabama
October 27: Dr. John & The Nite Trippers
October 29: Maceo Parker

Tickets are still availble for all four shows. The band are also playing four all-acoustic nights at Port Chester’s Capitol Theatre. October 18 & 19 feature opener John Fulbright and October 21 & 22 features Justin Townes Earle. Tickets for those shows are also still available.
