What to get the Dinosaur Jr. obsessive in your life besides expensive tinnitus surgery? Perhaps you'd be interested in the upcoming Dinosaur Jr, the coffee table book, that chronicles the veteran indie rockers from high school through the present day. It's got never-before-seen photographs, loads of old flyers, new interviews with J, Lou, Murph and former members Mike Johnson and George Berz, archival interviews and lots more.
There are two editions: the "classic" edition, and the "signature edition" that is signed by the band and comes with an additional volume as well as fine art prints. You can pre-order now and both editions will be out in November -- just in time for the holidays.
Dinosaur Jr. were last here in June for Governors Ball. Lou will be back with Sebadoh in November, and there's a listening party for their new album on Saturday (8/17) at Greenpoint's Permanent Records.
