still from 'Inside Llewyn Davis'
Inside Llewyn Davis

Inside Llewyn Davis is the new Coen Brothers film starring Oscar Isaac, Carey Mulligan, John Goodman, Garrett Hedlund and Justin Timberlake, which has been on the festival circuit this year (including this fall's New York Film Festival) and will open in December. The music in the film was executively produced by T-Bone Burnett, and mostly consists of covers of old folk songs. The soundtrack will be released on November 12 via Nonesuch.

The film's music will be celebrated and performed in NYC on September 29 at Town Hall during a big concert that features Jack White, Patti Smith, Colin Meloy (The Decemberists), Conor Oberst, Joan Baez, Marcus Mumford, Gillian Welch & David Rawlings, Punch Brothers, Avett Brothers, Milk Carton Kids, Rhiannon Giddens (Carolina Chocolate Drops), and more, in addition to some of the film's cast, including Oscar Isaac, John Goodman, Carey Mulligan, and Stark Sands.

Tickets for the show go on sale Wednesday (8/21) at noon with a presale beginning Tuesday (8/20) at noon. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the National Recording Preservation Foundation.

I'm getting a sold out message for this presale. (of course)

Posted by Anonymous | August 20, 2013 12:02 PM

Oh, wow....what a surprise. The pre-sale was a total shitshow.

Posted by Anonymous | August 20, 2013 12:03 PM

adorable little website they used for this pre-sale.

I had center orchestra row e in my cart. WHILE it was in my cart, it changed to "Seats are no longer available."

Nerds.

Posted by Anonymous | August 20, 2013 12:08 PM

I pulled two in row e. $100 per is a bit steep, but that's a lot of legends.

Nothing like hammering refresh for ten minutes, getting tickets assigned, submitting payment, and then having the whole thing fucking break.

Posted by Alex | August 20, 2013 12:08 PM

same thing happened to me 12:08pm. bull mierda

Posted by Anonymous | August 20, 2013 12:08 PM

Posted by Anonymous | August 20, 2013 12:13 PM

first 12:08, go to checkout, see if they're still in your cart. same thing happened to me, but then the tickets were actually in my cart.

Posted by Anonymous | August 20, 2013 12:14 PM

it won't be long now

Posted by Anonymous | August 20, 2013 12:27 PM

"first 12:08, go to checkout, see if they're still in your cart. same thing happened to me, but then the tickets were actually in my cart."

yep, same with me. 5th row center. had a minor freakout. i can rationalize the $100/ticket since it's a benefit. oh, and the lineup is insane.

Posted by Anonymous | August 20, 2013 9:55 PM

I wonder what Patti Smith, Jack White, Avett Brothers, and Conor Oberst will be performing, since none of them are on the film's original soundrack. Must be big fans.

Day two of hammering refresh to get tickets to this stupid thing and finding that every single one evidently sold out under ten seconds.

Can't scalper bots leave some nerd shit like this alone?

Posted by Alex | August 21, 2013 1:19 PM

I think this show broke Ticketmaster.

Posted by Anonymous | August 21, 2013 3:13 PM

I pulled a single at 12:24. you always have to keep trying because people fuck up the purchasing part and the tickets become available again.

I screwed up the Center Row E in my cart but later pulled Rigth Orchestra Row H. I'll take it.

How come this show has sold out where there are 139 tickets available at the always reliable stubhub.com, priced between $197.99 - $4,999.99??

just FYI me and my friend were actually angry at how bad this film was. im a Coen bro's fan, i loved A Serious Man though most people didnt. this is a depressed guy who plays a few tunes on his guitar who has a couple of minor depressing things happen to him. steer clear of this steaming turd.
