Melvins

You may have heard about the last minute Melvins show at Humboldt Park in Chicago? Turns out the appearance was part of an AV Undercover piece that had the trio perform "Graveyard" by Butthole Surfers in front of a parked ice cream truck. Video is in this post. Make sure and watch the video, which shows a swarm of kids clamoring for free ice cream and completely indifferent to the band around them. The song breaks down into cacophony, which is actually the perfect soundtrack to the sugar-fueled feeding frenzy around them. Knowing the Melvins and their sense of humor, I am sure this is something they are very happy about.

Melvins are readying their new LP, Tres Cabrones, with original drummer Mike Dillard, and recently passed through NYC at House of Vans.

Melvins' AV Undercover video is below...

how zany.

This is Chicago. They're lucky one of the kids didn't shoot them.

This is the single greatest statement on the decline of civilization.

Great band playing, making great music for ages. Kids don't give a fuck in the face of "free ice cream".

Fuck this world and the zombie sheep that populate it.

Rob would have some in him. but Butthole surfers sort of are always doing new things so this was not their song for a long time, they probably went off to other experiments and such.

I want that on vinyl so badly!!! But it's just impossible to find a copy nowadays!! I hope someday they reissue this album, 'cause it's one of their best in my opinion.
