As mentioned, Thee Oh Sees' John Dwyer is reissuing the first album by his old band, Coachwhips, which came out in 2002 and was called Hands On The Controls. It's not miles away from what Thee Oh Sees do, just a little more lo-fi. The record comes out next week (9/3) on Dwyer's increasingly busy Castle Face label (order yours) but you can stream the whole thing now in this post.

You'll be able to catch Dwyer in action with Thee Oh Sees this fall when they'll be touring with two killer support bands -- Austin's OBN IIIs and Minneapolis trio The Blind Shake. The NYC date happens October 29 at Irving Plaza. Tickets for that one are on sale now.

I saw these guys close at Watergate. It was one of the most eclectic sets that I have seen in my entire life. They must have played for 8 hours straight until the sun came up. In celebration, robust hummus platters were served at sunrise.

Unfortunately no! I was just there enjoying the show. Shahin used to live in the building and alot of bands from Narnack records would play there. XBXRX , X27, Thurston Moore, Langhorne Slim, etc. Sorry no vids!

I love the girl who catches the ghost at. She either loves Coachwhips or has a butt-full of joy. Or both!
