Immo let ya speak, but does anybody really give a flying fuck about these awards, the participants, the network, the whole shooting match?

VMA's turned their back on hardcore.

Posted by Anonymous | August 5, 2013 4:14 PM

So how can MTV give out awards for videos when neither MTV nor MTV2 play videos? Much like this network, this "ceremony" is a relic of a previous time and a masturbatory exercise in self-servitude.

FBI knocking on @411's door in 3, 2, 1...

@4:01 the only folks who care are at MSG, who keep losing high-profile events to Atlantic Yards.

You'd think the Dolans would *want* to move out of that eyesore, and into MSG V that can take back the limelight from Atlantic Yards.

For idiots, by idiots.

Posted by Anonymous | August 5, 2013 4:25 PM

Posted by Anonymous | August 5, 2013 5:26 PM

Do you think the Applebee's across the street will be taking reservations this far in advance? I want to bask in the glow.

Posted by Anonymous | August 5, 2013 5:27 PM

Unfortunately, this pretty much sums up what Brooklyn has become, which is too bad.

Posted by Anonymous | August 5, 2013 6:42 PM

421 MSG is closed until Oct and could not have hosted this event.

Posted by Anonymous | August 5, 2013 7:25 PM

433 I take it you are an avid MTV/VH1 watcher by your horrible list.

Posted by Anonymous | August 5, 2013 7:27 PM

4:33, thanks...I guess?

Posted by Anonymous | August 5, 2013 7:38 PM

Posted by Anonymous | August 5, 2013 8:42 PM

I heard the stars will be eating special gourmet hummus, and daft punk will be playing.

Posted by Anonymous | August 5, 2013 10:35 PM

What's VMAs?

I moved to Brooklyn to play the part of a poor artist. It's getting old papa. It's back Connecticut for me papa.

Posted by Anonymous | August 5, 2013 10:47 PM

Oh, that's easy VMAs means irrelevant.

Posted by Anonymous | August 5, 2013 10:52 PM

Hey MTV, your ballroom days are over.

Posted by Anonymous | August 5, 2013 10:53 PM

I hope russell brand hosting. I love how tells an American audience what "you Americans" do wrong. Meanwhile he makes millions with his crappy films that are bombs, in the US.

Posted by Anonymous | August 5, 2013 11:01 PM

What's MTV.

Posted by Anonymous | August 5, 2013 11:15 PM

How is MTV still around? Its such an archaic & useless thing.

Posted by Anonymous | August 5, 2013 11:58 PM

hootie!

Posted by Anonymous | August 6, 2013 1:20 AM

VMAs haven't been good since the mid-90s.
That being said, respect to Macklemore for all his success without support of a major label. Success on his own terms.

Posted by Anonymous | August 6, 2013 8:25 AM

totally also thought that was hootie for a minute

Posted by Anonymous | August 6, 2013 10:08 AM

MTV hasn't been good since Hootie. Not that Hootie made it good. Just a coincidence.

Posted by Anonymous | August 6, 2013 10:27 AM

Why are people still upset MTV doesn't play videos? The entire internet plays videos!

Posted by Anonymous | August 6, 2013 11:19 AM

"Why are people still upset MTV doesn't play videos? The entire internet plays videos!"

I've been asking the same question for a while whenever I hear the old "WTF?!! MTV DOESN'T PLAY MUSIC ANYMORE" complaint and have not gotten a single good answer yet. As if people want to wait through a bunch of crap they don't want to see to find something they do. It's not like people say "Wow, I'd like to listen to the new Lady Gaga song. Rather than go stream it off her site, I'll just listen Z100 for hours and wait until they play it."

Posted by Anonymous | August 6, 2013 5:30 PM

What was this song used in again? I heard it in a trailer?

Posted by Jaxton | May 14, 2014 5:34 AM

give me one example of kanye west being racist towards white people. if he hated them, he would have NEVER made it in the music industry. why is it that a black man talking about his experiences with institutionalized racism suddenly offensive to your white american sensibilities?
