Amon Amarth, Enslaved & Skeletonwitch announce 2014 tour

So this tour is kind of a blockbuster. Sweden’s ever-popular Amon Amarth, who put out their ninth album of Viking-themed melodic death metal earlier this year, are taking to North America for a month-long jaunt in January and February of 2014. The opening lineup is perhaps even more interesting. Norway’s Enslaved will provide direct support, with extra help from Ohio’s own hard-touring Skeletonwitch, who will first hit the road with The Black Dahlia Murder for a tour that hits NYC on 10/26 at Knitting Factory (tix). Skeletonwitch are also prepping to release a new album of their own, Serpents Unleashed, via Prosthetic Records on 10/29.

It’ll be interesting to see how the current, prog-oriented incarnation of Enslaved fares between the über high-energy sets from Skeletonwitch and Amon Amarth. The tour hits NYC at Irving Plaza on February 4. Tickets for that show go on sale Friday (9/20) at 10 AM with Citi Cardmember/VIP Package presales starting Tuesday (9/17) at 10 AM and Live Nation/Music Geeks presales starting Wednesday (9/18) at 10 AM (password for the Music Geeks presale is “musicgeeks”). Check out the full list of dates, a new Amon Amarth jam, and an Invisible Oranges-debuted Skeletonwitch studio update below.
