Crystal Stilts are relative vets on the Brooklyn at this point, having formed 10 years ago -- though they didn't really gain steam till 2007 or so. The band's signature combo of singer Brad Hargett's sleepy delivery and guitarist JB Townsend's reverby riffs is still evident on Nature Noir, the band's third LP which came out this week on Sacred Bones. But they have lightened the mood just a little this time out, letting a few rays of sunshine peak through the gloom. Nature Noir is a pretty apt title, actually. You can stream the whole thing via Spotify or Rdio.

Like they did last night, Crystal Stilts open for Deerhunter tonight (9/19) at Webster Hall which is sold out. If you didn't get tickets to one of these, Crystal Stilts will play on Halloween (10/31) at Bowery Ballroom. No other bands have been announced yet but tickets go on sale Friday (9/20) at noon.

That comes at the end of their October tour which starts just after their dates with Deerhunter. All are listed, along with the video for single "Star Crawl," below.

I really do hope they're sounding less and less contrived as they get older. When they started, they used to just be ripping off parts of every fucking hipster rock band since the '60s.

"anyone have an extra? i'm in need!"

In need of a brain apparently. Tons of cheap tickets are around. Look on CL. Go outside the venue tonight. There were lots of people selling extras on the cheap in front of Webster Hall

Get a fucking clue

I'm quite satisfied with the music scene in NY. I'm very proud to call this city my home

Does Brad Hargett want to be Lou Reed or Jim Morrison? Maybe Ian Curtis.

this band is really boring and not all that talented.
