Moonface at Mercury Lounge in 2011 (more by Amanda Hatfield)
Moonface

We recently mentioned that Spencer Krug (Wolf Parade, Sunset Rubdown) would be releasing a new solo piano album for his Moonface project called Julia With Blue Jeans On (due out 10/29 via Jagjaguwar). Like he did earlier in the year before the album announcement, Moonface will be doing some more solo piano shows once the album comes out. A full tour hasn't been announced, but we know he's at least doing a few US shows in November including one in NYC on November 9 at Le Poisson Rouge. Tickets for that show are on sale now.

All currently announced dates are listed, along with a stream from the new LP, below...

this is what happens when an indie label lets their artists do whatever they want. A&R guy at a major label would be fired for this.

Yeah, these side projects are dull. Reunite Wolf Parade.

You guys do what you want with yr own fledgling music careers. I miss Wolf Parade too, but Sunset Rubdown and Moonface are choice. So if you're in the business of telling people what they should be doing with their careers than go grab some white bean hummus and sit on a dick!

As a career counselor, I bet you get really far with that attitude.

digging this a LOT more than some of the recent Moonface´╗┐ stuff. This is beautiful!

Spencer Krug is neck deep in his Moonface project, this time releasing a straight-up and straight-forward album of songwriting via his voice and the piano. The minimal approach goes meta on getting up close and personal with the music, as there's nowhere to turn but the song and its melody.
