Motorhead

Motorhead had to cancel a few European dates this past summer due to Lemmy’s health problems, which is rare for them. Seems like the band is back on track, though; the PR cycle for their upcoming 21st (!!!) album, Aftershock, is in full swing. Rolling Stone debuted a second song, entitled “Crying Shame”, earlier today.

What does it sound like? It sounds like Motorhead. That’s a tautological description, you say? Fuck you. You know what Motorhead sounds like. (Okay, it sounds like Motorhead with a rockabilly piano banging out eighth notes during the chorus. But still!) This is a more mid-paced rocker than “Heartbreaker,” Aftershock‘s first single, but it is likewise totally devoid of surprises, and that’s okay. These guys are so beloved largely because of their consistency, rather than in spite of it.

Aftershock comes out on October 22. Listen to “Crying Shame” here, and stream “Heartbreaker” below.
