Sigur Ros appearing in 'Game of Thrones' Season 4

Wildly popular HBO fantasy series Game of Thrones is currently filming Season 4 at various locations around Europe. After Season 3 featured bit parts from members of Coldplay and Snow Patrol, the show is continuing to put anthemic bands in cameos, namely Sigur Ros. Though the show films in the band’s native Iceland (subbing for The Haunted Forest and other points North of The Wall), Jónsi, Georg Hólm, and Orri Páll Dýrason are in Croatia filming right now — Dubrovnik is where Kings Landing scenes are filmed. No word on whether they’ll contribute a song too, like The National and The Hold Steady did previously.

This is a big year for Sigur Ros television guest appearances, as they were already on an episode of The Simpsons. They are a Breaking Bad and Walking Dead away from a TV cameo EGOT. The band were last in NYC in March and have more North American tour dates this fall, though none in the five boroughs or surrounding area

Game of Thrones’ fourth season will air Spring 2014 on HBO.
