The 2013 winner of Canada’s Polaris Music Prize will be named tonight (9/23) at a gala ceremony in Toronto that will include live performances from Metric, METZ, Purity Ring, Colin Stetson, A Tribe Called Red, Whitehorse, Zaki Ibrahim, and Young Galaxy. (The other nominees, Godspeed and Tegan & Sara, won’t be playing.) Weren’t invited? You can stream the whole thing live. The pre-show begins at 7 PM with the ceremony starting at 8 PM Eastern. One neat thing about the stream, the embedded player in this post allows you to toggle between the actual gala and backstage where you can “interact with performers, past nominees, presenters, and Polaris jury members” via Facebook and Twitter.
