The Body

The Body are having a busy year. They've signed with Thrill Jockey, toured (including a two-night stand at the Acheron), and confirmed an appearance at next year's Gilead Media fest. Their Thrill Jockey debut, Christs, Redeemers, comes out on October 15. We've debuted a video for "An Altar or a Grave" -- one of the strongest cuts on the new record -- over at Invisible Oranges. From our writeup:

The video is about either someone being drowned or having their weighted corpse dumped deep water; either way, the blurred fluttering of the occasional milky-white hand jutting from the bundle of sinking, sodden rags says too much, about awful things. The string and vocal melodies interwoven throughout the bands plodding, toxic riffs simply drive home the feeling of despair and claustrophobia that exists in the silent, heavy tomb beneath the surface.
Check out the video and the full writeup over at IO.

The band has also announced a run of North American dates, including a Halloween show at Saint Vitus (which will undoubtedly be pretty weird) and a show with Neurosis in Portland in late November (which will undoubtedly be pretty awesome; tix). Tickets for the Saint Vitus show will be on sale soon via Ticketfly.

All dates are listed, along with those videos, below...
