NYC’s Vaura just announced a record release show for their forthcoming sophomore album The Missing (due out 10/29 via Profound Lore) that will go down on Friday, November 22 at 285 Kent with Brooklyn experimental prog/metal band Kayo Dot and industrial metal duo Psalm Zero. No advance tickets at the moment but check Ticketfly for updates. Vaura recently put out their first single off of The Missing, “Incomplete Burning.” It’s huge, full of poppy darkwave hooks, and hypnotic–listen to that below.

Vaura bassist Toby Driver is also the founding member of Kayo Dot, who is headlining the 285 Kent show and recently played Bowery Electric with Ahleuchatistas on September 14. We missed that show, but did you go? How was it? Kayo Dot were also supposed to open the 9/6 show at Bell House with Sal Mineo, but that didn’t happen. All of their tour dates are listed below.

Psalm Zero, which features members of Castevet and formerly of Extra Life (who played their final show at 285 Kent earlier this year), is releasing its debut 7-inch single “Force My Hand” on November 19, so the Vaura and Kayo Dot gig is a record release show for them, too. You can also catch Psalm Zero at the Acheron on October 30 with Lussuria and Vain Warr. Catch Lussuria if you can–the one-man gorgeous power electronics/ambient show is something to behold.

UPDATE: Lussuria is not on that Acheron show, but Curran Reynolds’ Body Stuff, which blends drone, metal and post-rock in massively weird and awesome ways, is.

Update 2: Vaura just released another song from their album, “Pleasure Blind.” Stream that (via Noisey), along with another album track and the list of Kayo Dot dates, below…
