Zero Boys @ Europa, 8/29/2013
Zero Boys

Reunited Indianapolis punk band Zero Boys headlined Europa on Friady (8/29), supported by tourmates Night Birds as part of a round of dates together. The show featured local support from Nuclear Santa Claust and SpEd, and pictures from their appearance together are in this post.

As discussed, the next NYC show for the Night Birds goes down at The Studio at Webster Hall on 10/12 supporting Modern Life is War. MLIW just added ANOTHER show at Saint Vitus after the appearance at The Studio.

More pics from Friday's show at Europa below...

living in the 80's, indeed!

terrible terrible band

Posted by Anonymous | September 5, 2013 12:49 AM

Actually it's you coming in with bad hardcore tastes as Modern Life Is War is one of the most overrated hardcore bands of the last decade. Another hypecore band alongside American Nightmare and No Warning (to name a few.)

Seriously, put AN/NW/MLIW up against say Negative Approach*, Comeback Kid**, and Wisdom In Chains***, and NA/CK/WIC wins hands fucking down.

* Reunion band to pit against reunion band American Nightmare
** Canadian band to pit against Canadian band No Warning.
*** Band who tours their asses off like MLIW did (that I will give MLIW.)

I was comparing NA to AN, NA wins, WIC > MLIW, Comeback Kid > No Warning, and good idea not commenting on NA, nerd.

1:14pm OHMIGOD! THANK YOU for telling me what I already know re: the origin of Wisdom In Chains' name! I only heard the song when it came out in '89. Idiot. Someone doesn't know WIC has been a BAND since 2003 huh?

Negative Approach was a band, fucknut.

So what Comeback Kid was on Victory Records? They're still better than No Warning, deal with it.

BTW Kill Your Idols needs to take a fucking hike.

First they play with edgebreakers Judge in NYC now they're playing Chicago for what reason? I thought Andy West was so straightedge he wouldn't grace the stage with phonies like Judge.

Can ya play Long Island where you're from? I mean I won't go as you were the most overrated LIHC band ever but talk about slapping the people where you came from in the face.

Posted by Anonymous | September 5, 2013 12:50 AM

Night Birds is merely a big fish in a small pond called 2013 NJHC.

Overrated and overplayed

Posted by Anonymous | September 5, 2013 12:51 AM

Night Birds blow.

Living proof NJHC has been dead since the mid-1990s.

The singer has a vintage Roddy Piper sneer. Where's the ringer tee and kilt?

Why do you think it's cool for people to make t-shirts of other bands and not give a cut of the profits to those bands in an age where people in these bands can EASILY be tracked down via Facebook when it's not cool?

E.g. A guy runs 50 (insert bandname) shirts, sells them, and makes $200 profit per shirt. He finds one member of this band on Facebook. Why not PayPal the member say $50? It ain't much but it's a nice gesture considering you're making money off his creation and you still walk away with $150 - not bad for emailing a design you didn't create for someone else to print the tees, collecting orders via PayPal, buying mailers online, packing them, and shipping them out in one shot via Stamps.com or one trip to the U.S. Post Office. Hypothetically you wouldn't even have to leave the house or do any physical labor besides pack the tees to sell the tees.

Posted by Anonymous | September 5, 2013 12:54 AM

I meant to say he makes $4 profit per shirt for $200 total profit on the 50 shirts he makes.

Posted by Anonymous | September 5, 2013 12:54 AM

Here's my thing, Brian:

Make 1, 5, 10, 50, whatever you want, just find someone in the band on Facebook, ask them if it's cool if you could make tees of their band, negotiate a cut for the band, run up the tees, sell 'em, and PayPal the band's cut, is all I'm saying

That's not me saying you sold the tee you're wearing in the pic, that's just what I think should be done when making dead bands' tees.

Is D having a schizophrenic episode? What's going on here?

Posted by Anonymous | September 5, 2013 1:10 AM

1:10, I just clicked on the "Night Birds" tag, and a bunch of articles D has commented on in the past came up, then I copied his old comments in those articles, and pasted them here. It shows that D's comments can have useful applications beyond their original habitat. In fact, I plan on launching a greeting card company with a line of cards based upon D's posts here. As the fans of 90's hardcore age and go through life's changes, they might be willing to share their feelings in a way that is enhanced through D's unique understanding of where they're at.

The Zero Boys were great..however Night Birds ruled this show

Posted by J | September 5, 2013 6:23 AM

what in the hell do Negative Approach and Comeback Kid have in common? Why are they mentioned in the same post? Andy West? Straight Edge? Go back to listening to Sleigh Bells and FRIENDS and stop trying to flex your hardcore knowledge of 10 years ago

Posted by Anonymous | September 5, 2013 8:46 AM

8:46, I don't know what it all means, I just found the comments via clicking on the night birds tag above. Then I repost them here, 8 vwahlah!
