10/18 Brooklyn 10/19 - "Prizes for Best Costumes!" (photo by PSquared)
Reflektors

Hopefully this poster we just found in Red Hook, not far from one of the new Banksys and where the Mexican Summer 5th Anniversary Fest is taking place, isn't fake! Maybe start thinking about your formal attire or costume just in case.

If it's true, that will be at least three Arcade Fire performances in NYC in less than a month because they're confirmed to play the YouTube Awards. They were also just in NYC for SNL and might be back now for tonight's "Her" premiere.

Arcade Fire's new album "Reflektor" is out October 29, the same day The Reflektors release "Reflektor". They just released another teaser called "Awful Sound" too, which you can watch below...

they did this in montreal; announced morning of the show and it's usually at a really small place (like 200-400 people) w/ tickets first-come first-serve once announced that day (aka mad rush to whatever location the show is at for ticket).

i'd guess europa since they're trying to stay all street creddy

Posted by Anonymous | October 12, 2013 7:16 PM

montreal shows also had the 'formal attire or costume' thing so methinks legit

Posted by Anonymous | October 12, 2013 7:17 PM

The 'Her' premiere is tonight.

hottest tickets in town! 2 nights at Warsaw!

Posted by Anonymous | October 12, 2013 7:28 PM

It will be more subtle and more fancy, current details indicate two night stand at Capitale.

Posted by Anonymous | October 12, 2013 7:32 PM

"It will be more subtle and more fancy, current details indicate two night stand at Capitale."

Yeah, because that's in Brooklyn.

Posted by Anonymous | October 12, 2013 7:39 PM

gonna be suchhhhhh a shitshow, especially since the venue it's at holds about 150 people

Posted by Anonymous | October 12, 2013 7:56 PM

Great - another 'free show.' Way to support the unemployed to have them wait in line all day. Another plus for indie rock.

Posted by Anonymous | October 12, 2013 7:58 PM

They will be playing on the Upper East Side of a dumpster.

Posted by Anonymous | October 12, 2013 8:32 PM

7:58- the second show is on a Saturday. Sucks you'll be working at Starbucks all day

Posted by Anonymous | October 12, 2013 8:45 PM

Posted by blayne | October 12, 2013 10:56 PM

9:05, maybe some people don't like music that sounds like a car commercial?

Posted by Anonymous | October 12, 2013 10:57 PM

tickets sold out already. WTF.

Posted by Anonymous | October 13, 2013 1:32 AM

too bad they have advance tickets, I would lol well at the sight of dozens of douches in formal attire getting turned away en masse, left outside as a decoy for the 99% to take out their self induced problems upon

Posted by Anonymous | October 13, 2013 3:51 AM

I really hope it's true that the coupon I saw for $1.00 off family size Sabra isn't a fake.

Posted by Anonymous | October 13, 2013 5:25 AM

When are they announcing their tour? Multiple nights at MSG or Barclays? Maybe bowie will join them

Posted by Anonymous | October 13, 2013 9:05 AM

LOL white people.

Posted by Anonymous | October 13, 2013 9:20 AM

@9:20 suck it ghetto Booty betch

Posted by White person | October 13, 2013 9:52 AM

like this band or not, this is ridiculously annoying. you want to play shows for your fans, then do it. don't require costumes, limit attendance to unemployed asswipes, etc. just play some fucking shows.

Posted by Anonymous | October 13, 2013 10:19 AM

wah wah wah.

Posted by Anonymous | October 13, 2013 11:03 AM

9:52, SMDH, like I said... LOL white people...

Posted by Anonymous | October 13, 2013 11:30 AM

Pioneer Works?

Posted by Anonymous | October 13, 2013 12:39 PM

lol its the suburbs the album is called rk frie

Posted by Anonymous | October 13, 2013 1:45 PM

"don't require costumes, limit attendance to unemployed asswipes, etc. just play some fucking shows."

dude, several points:

1. one of the shows is on a saturday, so shut up with the unemployed stuff.

2. you don't need to wear a costume; they provide a white jumpsuit for anyone who does not fulfill the dress code and will not turn anyone away at the door based on attire.

3. they are playing some fucking shows, for their fans, for under $20, at a venue the size of a pizza hut express, on a friday and saturday night, so relax.

Posted by Anonymous | October 13, 2013 2:46 PM

they are opening for Pearl Jam at Barclays

Posted by Anonymous | October 13, 2013 3:02 PM

So all the people who loved them in 2005 hate them now that they're popular? Hipsters are so fickle.

Posted by Anonymous | October 13, 2013 4:52 PM

no their not

Posted by Anonymous | October 13, 2013 5:30 PM

fuck off 4:52, I still listen to the Strokes and Interpol every day.

Posted by Anonymous | October 13, 2013 5:38 PM

Hype Marketing is the new writing good songs.

Posted by Anonymous | October 13, 2013 5:49 PM

5:49 give us a band that released 3 better albums between 2004 and 2010 and i will give you $25.

Posted by Anonymous | October 13, 2013 6:26 PM

lcd soundsystem, the national

Posted by Anonymous | October 13, 2013 6:59 PM

Not 6:26 but will offer my 2 cents anyway. Completely disagree re: The National. They don't suck, but AF blows them away. They're not in the same league. LCD I'd be willing to debate (though at the end of the day AF is still better if you ask me)...but LCD didn't put out their first album until 2005. So there...moot point.

Posted by Anonymous | October 13, 2013 7:57 PM

Lets compare their albums side by side.

Funeral slightly better than Alligator
Boxer in a different league than Suburbs
High Violet better than Neon Bible
Trouble Will Find Me is likely better than this Talking Heads cover album that they are about to release.

The Nats by a nose

Posted by Anonymous | October 13, 2013 8:26 PM

..oh...and Ill throw in Deerhunter as a band that doesn't have an album as good as Funeral, but has other albums that are a great deal better than Suburbs, and Neon Bible.

Posted by Anonymous | October 13, 2013 8:29 PM

Every fucking band you fanboy mooks just mentioned are all trash. Name me 3 bands bullshit. You're palate is even more narrow than your useless urethra. It's not even worth having this discussion with you gentiles.

Posted by Anonymous | October 13, 2013 10:12 PM

^

Okay, okay, Grimes is OK too, Tool.....

Posted by Anonymous | October 13, 2013 10:23 PM

Hey, this is veering into actual music discussion territory. And it's really hard to think of any bands with a string of 3 good albums between2004 and 2010.

Vampire Weekend

Posted by Anonymous | October 14, 2013 3:16 PM

I sorta thought Vampire Weekend might weaken a bit by now, but LP3 might actually be the best one so far.

Posted by Anonymous | October 14, 2013 3:23 PM

They are indeed playing the House of Yes. They will also be playing Miami 10/22.

The question is, how early will people be lining up outside? Good luck!

Posted by Anonymous | October 14, 2013 5:15 PM

Hey Guys- incase you haven't heard, House of Yes is closed! I know- I'm the owner. Why are you so sure its happening at HOY?

In case anyone is wondering, this poster was located in the window of Mark's Pizzeria. It is no longer there. The only other reported poster was found at Burger It Up! in Bushwick. That poster has also been taken.
