Arcade Fire

Over the weekend, we spotted a poster in Red Hook that said "The Reflektors" (aka Arcade Fire) would be playing Brooklyn shows on October 18 and 19. It later looked pretty promising that the location would be 299 Meserole. That's not only now been confirmed, but the shows also have a Ticketmaster link! They go on sale Thursday (10/17) at noon and the "Reflektor" pre-order presale begins Wednesday (10/16) at 10 AM. Only presales placed through arcadefire.com will get the presale codes. Good luck!

"Only presales placed through arcadefire.com will get the presale codes."

FYI that time has passed according to Top Spin's twitter account, at least for the Brooklyn shows. You'll still get a unique presale code for the world tour, though.

The code can only be used once, for both the Reflektors shows and/or the world tour, so they're making you choose.

Capacity is 1000 for this venue according to a Google search (not sure if anyone who's been there can confirm?)

Posted by Anonymous | October 15, 2013 6:44 PM

Twitter hasn't said there is a cut off yet

Posted by Anonymous | October 15, 2013 6:46 PM

excited to hear about people getting turned away at the door for not wearing formal/costume

Posted by Anonymous | October 15, 2013 6:46 PM

Great, so only people who preordered the album are getting in. Would've maybe done it if shipping wasn't fucking 15 bucks.

Posted by Anonymous | October 15, 2013 6:47 PM

Yeah topspin just says "today" no cutoff announcement yet.

Posted by Anonymous | October 15, 2013 6:48 PM

If you can't get tickets, Speedy Ortiz is playing at the grand opening of a Starbucks on the same night.

Posted by Anonymous | October 15, 2013 6:53 PM

if you buy the digital download you still get the access and only pay 12

Posted by Anonymous | October 15, 2013 6:57 PM

I can't imagine more than 500 people in NYC are with the code...right?

Posted by Anonymous | October 15, 2013 7:00 PM

maybe 502

Posted by Anonymous | October 15, 2013 7:02 PM

"If you can't get tickets, Speedy Ortiz is playing at the grand opening of a Starbucks on the same night."

Where? Tell me where.

Posted by Anonymous | October 15, 2013 7:06 PM

General sale is on Wednesday if I understand...

Posted by Anonymous | October 15, 2013 7:11 PM

how do you still get tickets with the pre-order?

Posted by Anonymous | October 15, 2013 7:11 PM

Top Spin's tweet says 'pre-ordered' which is the past tense, meaning if you already pre-ordered. Otherwise, they would have said "pre-order" because that's how our language works.

Feel free to pre-order though; Arcade Fire need new cello strings.

Posted by Anonymous | October 15, 2013 7:27 PM

No new codes will be distributed until after the presale tmrw. Codes will be sent for Barclays Center shows in Feb.

Ill be at pearl jam!

Posted by Anonymous | October 15, 2013 7:54 PM

Arcade Fire Fans: If you pre ordered "Reflektor" today, you'll receive your presale code before the presale tomorrow. Look out for an email!

I'm too old for this shit.

Posted by Anonymous | October 15, 2013 8:53 PM

TOTAL: $20.52

I preordered just in case (thinking I would still like to use it for Barclays shows if no dice tomorrow), and got the following message in confirmation email:

"Only purchases made before Wednesday, 10/16 9am ET will receive a code for ticket presales on 10/16."

Posted by Anonymous | October 15, 2013 9:29 PM

I got two preorder codes. Whoops.

Posted by Anonymous | October 15, 2013 9:36 PM

Yeah I just got a second? Anyone know what's up with that?

Posted by Anonymous | October 15, 2013 9:38 PM

Arcade Fire apparently hates Pearl Jam fans, too.

Posted by Anonymous | October 15, 2013 9:44 PM

IT'S A TRAP

Posted by Anonymous | October 15, 2013 9:49 PM

Shit band.

SNL has been shit ever since Farley and Hartman (RIP) left the show.

Tina Fey is not funny at all. She looks like Sarah Palin. Fuck her.

This Arcade Fire adulation is ridiculous.

The music industry is SOOOOO desperate to have the next Foo Fighters it's pathetic.

Posted by D | October 15, 2013 10:09 PM

You're not really citing Chris Farley as a high-water mark of SNL, are you?

Posted by nopx | October 15, 2013 10:31 PM

does anyone have the dates for the barclays shows?

Posted by Anonymous | October 15, 2013 11:05 PM

You're not really saying Chris Farley wasn't funny, are you?

Fuck Will Ferrell, Chris Kattan, Tracey Morgan, Tina Fey, Cheri Oteri, and whoever else you jock, hipster.

All SNL has been for the past 13 or so years is one imitation skit after another.

Seriously, can they do ONE fucking episode where they're not imitating someone? Or doing a skit based on that week's events? Yeah, the government shutdown is soooooo funny. Mixing that with Gravity (and in turn serving as a promoter of that dumbass movie) soooooo clever. All SNL does is look up what happened that week and run with it.

A post-SNL half-hour Arcade Fire special but no post-SNL half-hour special for Beastie Boys, Red Hot Chili Peppers, et.al?

SNL is comedy for hipsters now.

Posted by D | October 15, 2013 11:14 PM

i still like my chances of getting thru on the presale alot better than standing on line for snl two weeks ago

Fuck them !

Posted by morgellon beast | October 16, 2013 3:53 AM

Posted by Anonymous | October 16, 2013 8:00 AM

Any word on how much the tickets will be? (as if ticketmaster won't crash exactly at noon tomorrow).

Posted by Anonymous | October 16, 2013 8:11 AM

^$45..its on there already hoss

Posted by Anonymous | October 16, 2013 8:20 AM

Did the presale ticket code come in a separate email than the purchase confirmation email? It does say that "Only purchases made before Wednesday, 10/16 9am ET will receive a code for ticket presales on 10/16," so I hope it shows up before the 10 am onsale.

Posted by Anonymous | October 16, 2013 8:40 AM

Ticketmaster rarely crashes. Other than days where like Bruce, The Who, Roger Waters all have shows going on sale at the same time.

Posted by Anonymous | October 16, 2013 8:41 AM

8:40am,
They send out the code in a different email. If you have not got it yet, then chances are you are not going to. Topspin is an LA company so they are not even in their offices till 11am east coast time.

My friend ordered last night as well and never got the code. Don't believe the trolls though. There was never any specified cutoff time other than ordering before 9am today. So if you don't get your code, make sure you get tough with Topspin and scream at them. Also you are well within your rights to cancel whatever you ordered for a full refund.

Fuck those guys

Posted by Anonymous | October 16, 2013 9:41 AM

i preordered the album on amazon like a month ago. wtf

Posted by Anonymous | October 16, 2013 9:47 AM

has anyone received the email with code?...I bought the album way before today and have yet to receive it..this is insaneee!!!

Posted by stegaral | October 16, 2013 9:48 AM

You only get the code if you preordered directly from arcadefire.com

Posted by Anonymous | October 16, 2013 9:49 AM

I mean, you guys who ordered late will get the code for the Wednesday 10/15 presale. The question is if you'll get it before 10am. And it ain't lookin' good.

Posted by Anonymous | October 16, 2013 9:51 AM

I did purchase it through arcade website..I did do on time as well...
crossing my fingers...

Posted by stegaral | October 16, 2013 9:52 AM

The real troll is whoever said 9am is the cutoff time as per the confirmation e-mail, because that clearly wasn't the case (and if you knew they were an LA office, you'd know how that makes no sense since they open at 11am EST).

Good luck everyone.

Posted by Anonymous | October 16, 2013 9:55 AM

this is a fucking scam. REFLEKTOR WORLDWIDE PREORDER
ALL REFLEKTOR PRE-ORDERS INCLUDE FIRST ACCESS TO TICKET ON SALES FOR SPECIAL SHOWS AND THE FORTHCOMING WORLD TOUR.

Yet after I pay $40 for a $20 record they decide to tell me that Only purchases made before Wednesday, 10/16 9am ET will receive a code for ticket presales on 10/16.

Fuck this.

Posted by Anonymous | October 16, 2013 9:55 AM

Moron @9:55, when you ordered from topspin, that is what it says on your order.

Posted by Anonymous | October 16, 2013 9:56 AM

still no code :( ...I am praying that the code will magically be my purchase order...have it handy just in case...again...this is insane!!

Posted by stegaral | October 16, 2013 9:57 AM

956 doesn't matter, just use your brain and realize you won't get a code before 10am. still goes with what the e-mail says.

Posted by Anonymous | October 16, 2013 9:57 AM

"Anyone who ordered before 9am and did not get a code, make sure you give it to topspin and cancel whatever you ordered for a full refund. They have to give it to you."

unnnnlesss you get the code before midnight PST today, in which case they have complied with the statement in their confirmation email. they promised you a code, not tickets.

Posted by Anonymous | October 16, 2013 10:05 AM

That was surprisingly easy.

Posted by Anonymous | October 16, 2013 10:06 AM

^nope, if they did not send you a code in time for your presage then you can get a full refund on your order.

I'm curious if I pre-order a second copy, will I be covered for Barclays?! ;-)

Posted by Jeff | October 16, 2013 10:13 AM

"I'm curious if I pre-order a second copy, will I be covered for Barclays?! ;-)"

Yes. That's sort of the point; to up record sales. One album = one code, although I'd buy under separate e-mails just to play it safe.

Posted by Anonymous | October 16, 2013 10:16 AM

Presale worked for me.

Posted by Henry | October 16, 2013 10:16 AM

Posted by Anonymous | October 16, 2013 10:18 AM

anyone who asks for a refund is thinking short-term x 10000. you'll still get a code that'll set you with some GA floor tickets worth $300+. if you really wanna stick it to top spin/arcade fire, then do it that way.

Posted by Anonymous | October 16, 2013 10:18 AM

^The arena tickets will not be worth that at all. Now tickets for this weekend you can scalp for astronomical numbers after tomorrow's regular sale when that shitshow is over

anyone get the presale code and get denied? i literally clicked the link entered the code for two tickets, and NO DICE!

Posted by Anonymous | October 16, 2013 10:25 AM

GA tix for MSG were not even close to going for 300 bucks. I picked up one in a re-release on TM a few days before the show no problem.

A code for Barclay's isn't really necessary.

Posted by Anonymous | October 16, 2013 10:26 AM

There is probably one ticket left for Saturday, and I'm sitting on it for the next 3 minutes.

Posted by Anonymous | October 16, 2013 10:26 AM

"^The arena tickets will not be worth that at all. Now tickets for this weekend you can scalp for astronomical numbers after tomorrow's regular sale when that shitshow is over"

arcade fire arena floor tix will definitely go for $300 if they don't play like six nights. this is the 2nd biggest hipster capital of the world, dude.

and i don't think the scalping excuse will seem legit on top spin's end when asking for a refund.

10:27, you are one in a long line of delusional idiots on here who have no clue as to the marker out there. Or you believe the stupid trolls who come on here and lie about what they scalp tickets for. The gold is this weekend's shows. Not the arena ones.

What scalping excuse for topspin? It is simple, if you ordered before 9am today and did not get a code for the presale then you are well within your right to demand a full refund on your order.

Yeah, it's not like I'm sitting on two Friday and two Saturday tickets, and have to file a 1099 for my StubHub earnings. I am in Delusiontown.

Some people do sell tickets for well above market value, because some buyers are idiots and/or lazy. Simple as that. There is a sucker for every bad deal out there. Go to Stubhub's sold tickets section for any hyped show and you'll always see a few fun numbers.

Posted by Delusional Idiot | October 16, 2013 10:34 AM

^Delusional idiot, you can also add moron to that moniker as well. No one is claiming people are stupid and over pay. What they are saying and which is the truth is that it is this weekend's shows where you can make crazy amounts of money. The upcoming arena shows won't scalp like that. You won't get 300 bucks for a ticket for the arena shows.

Posted by Anonymous | October 16, 2013 10:37 AM

but arcade fire are not interesting.

Posted by Anonymous | October 16, 2013 10:46 AM

woooo let's all whine because real fans got all the tickets instead of scalpers/hipsters/bandwagon hype junkies.

i find it hard to believe you're a fan and didn't visit arcade fire's website over the past month to see the offer.

or did they light an arcade fire in your soul just last night?

Posted by Anonymous | October 16, 2013 10:48 AM

i just got tickets after trying for 39 mins, go figure

Posted by Anonymous | October 16, 2013 10:49 AM

1037 uh-oh, scalper didn't get his tickets.

i love the sound of scalpers crying in the morning. sounds like victory.

Posted by Anonymous | October 16, 2013 10:54 AM

wow. super easy. pre ordered album last night. got code (in my junk mail). got 2 tix at 10am sharp for Friday. awesome.

Posted by Anonymous | October 16, 2013 10:57 AM

'What they are saying and which is the truth is that it is this weekend's shows where you can make crazy amounts of money.'

If crazy amounts of money is a few hundred dollars, then I guess. These won't go for more than $500 average; no one pays thousands to see a band play a seven-song new album set.

You can also maybe get a job where you can get "crazy amounts of money" every week, by contributing something to society, so things like this don't matter as much to you. Or is that too mod?

Anyone sitting here whining about how much money they aren't gonna make because they didn't get tickets deserves to have a stick in their ass, and their complaints only make this thread better.

then what are you other assholes complaining/waiting for? go buy the $200 tickets on speculation if you think they'll be worth so much.

Posted by Anonymous | October 16, 2013 11:04 AM

there are tickets over twenty tickets for under $200 on stubhub, so feel free to admit you're wrong whenever (this is addressed to the scalper tard who wanted to make 'craaazy amounts of money' )

Posted by Anonymous | October 16, 2013 11:06 AM

"7 song set?, lol yea right more like 2 hrs worth of good music"

I really wouldn't go in expecting that. They're only doing the new album; that's why they're still billing it as The Reflektors instead of just saying Arcade Fire (which everyone in the world knows is the case; you even got the code through the Arcade Fire site).

So yeah, no 'Wake Up' for you. Go if you like the band, not the particular songs from past albums.

Posted by Anonymous | October 16, 2013 11:07 AM

FYI they're gonna do an unannounced encore set as Arcade Fire without the paper heads; that's why this show is $45 per ticket and Montreal was only $9.

Aka once that info gets out Friday night, Saturday tickets will be nonexistent.

Posted by Anonymous | October 16, 2013 11:10 AM

^Yeah cause you know. Shut up dickhead. Nobody has any clue as to what they are doing this weekend. Just because they named it the reflektors has nothing to do with anything other than a cool way to get hype for the show. I doubt it is going to be just a 7-9 song set of the new album

They are complaining over nothing, or they chose the physical album. They don't charge shipping for digital albums regardless of location.

Posted by Anonymous | October 16, 2013 2:20 PM

Digital-only wasn't an option when I pre-ordered, and shipping to here in Brooklyn was $13... Anyway, I got tix pretty easily to Saturday's show - being able to get easy access to tix for this show made paying list price and exorbitant shipping for the album worth it.

David Bowie will be joining the band Friday evening.

When did you order? I ordered yesterday and digital was available. $12 total.

2:58p - I ordered the first or second day of pre-ordering being opened, think that was around mid-September. If digital-only had been an option I would've gone with that, but the cheapest option then was Reflektor Double CD + Download (single and album) + Limited Vinyl Single.

Iman has confirmed she will be in attendance, in conjunction with 2:49

Posted by Anonymous | October 16, 2013 3:10 PM

as someone who has worked packed events at this space, depending on how many sections they close off, capacity can be anywhere from 2,000 - 5,000

Posted by Anonymous | October 16, 2013 4:15 PM

It's not going to be as big as 2,000-5,000. Other events aren't like this one.

never understood the appeal of Arcade Fire, average band just trying to be weird/make a statement to me, now all their sycophantic d-bag fans will be toadying around my neighborhood, grrrreeeeeet

1,200 tops...any more and the police will shut it down and AF love media but not that media. You put 5,000 peeps in there and someone dies.

what is this bullshit about David Bowie on Friday night and more importantly is it actually bullshit

Posted by Anonymous | October 16, 2013 6:32 PM

they arent gonna have bowie on friday and nobody on sat

Posted by Anonymous | October 16, 2013 7:31 PM

Bowie has made two appearance with them and I don't think we should expect that he's just gonna pop up every time they do a gig.

That being said, since I have tickets on Friday, I would be fucking thrilled to be wrong about this.

I really don't see Bowie showing up to a warehouse in Bushwick. Call me crazy.

Jimbone is sad that so few people are happy these days, or at least that's how it seems to Jimbone when Jimbone reads these comments. Sigh. Jimbone is going, and he's even sprung for a costume. Jimbone will still have fun. Jimbone is sure of it!

Posted by Anonymous | October 17, 2013 9:26 AM

They say the venue can hold up to 3,000 people. They don't know anything about what the actual concert capacity for this particular event is.

Posted by Anonymous | October 17, 2013 9:48 AM

WTF!? I was right there, but seems i missed it

Posted by s | October 17, 2013 12:04 PM

Its the creativity and subject, They haven't progressed. Metric for instance but not limited to them, they've changed incredibly between their modern albums. They've grown up.
