Cat Power going 'Station to Station'
Station To Station - 2013

When it comes to Cat Power, what do we all REALLY want? We want to hear the Chan Marshall we first fell in love with, the one with nothing more than an acoustic guitar and a microphone. Not surprisingly, her November 14th NYC solo show at Brooklyn Masonic Temple has SOLD OUT. Luckily she added another "special intimate evening with Cat Power solo", though it's a late one (the same night). Tickets for the 11pm NYC show go on sale Tuesday at noon ($40 advance / $45 day of show).

Other dates on the November tour include New Haven, Philly, Ohio, Chicago and the upcoming Elliot Smith tribute at Glasslands (speaking of people we'd love to see play live again with nothing more than an acoustic guitar).

All dates are listed, along with a set of pictures from Chan's appearances on the Levi's Station to Station tour in California (she wasn't on the NYC date) below.

I'm sorry, but what in the world has happened to her in the last few years? Not even just the short hair - she's just looking really, really rough.

Posted by Anonymous | October 14, 2013 1:47 PM

she looks rough due to krokodil?

Posted by Anonymous | October 14, 2013 2:12 PM

she's starting to look like her old beau, Bill.

RIP looks

it was fun for a decade +

uh....she has a disease. also she's done this thing called aging. it's gonna happen to you too.

Posted by Anonymous | October 14, 2013 3:37 PM

Seriously, I love all these people who run their mouths about how someone looks when they're older, especially when most of them are WASPs who will age horribly like most WASPs do.

that's true.....all you white women reading this, find a man quick....after 35 nobody wants you

* WAIT * What disease? Seriously. Please, can you elaborate? I know she's going through periods of being upset, but what are you speaking of? If you're trolling with comments like that, please kindly fuck off.

Are these shows just for the youngins who never got to experience her truly horrible solo shows?

If you want to pay $50 to hear a song and half and another 45 minutes of incoherent babbling... have fun!

It really annoys me when people add on a second show after the first one sells out. It cheapens the process of getting a ticket in the first place.

Although, having said that, and knowing Chan's antics, there is no way in hell I want to be waiting for her to take the stage in Fort Greene after 11pm.

So I guess it's a wash.

5:45, it's some inflammatory condition. http://www.avclub.com/articles/cat-power-bankrupt-and-seriously-ill-may-cancel-eu,88172/

WAY TO REBRAND, CHAN

anyone who doesn't see this new "haggard" look for what it is, along with the "I'm broke" publicity stunt she put out there earlier this year, is a gullible ass.

She is trying to get respect after years of being the darling of the NPR, yuppie, $45 ticket community.

She's lying and saying she's poor, and she's trying to look weathered, all to convince you she is a legit artist instead of a hack.

In reality she's a rather well-payed, jet set, celebrity-hobnobbing kind of gal. This doesn't mean shes not a legit artist, but the rebrand is kind of insulting to all of our intelligence.

She looks a lot like Mac's mom from It's Always Sunny.

most expensive $45 I've ever spent.

Cat Power's genius is her curse. When she's not rambling non-sensical statements, she is singing the most hauntingly gorgeous songs. You'll never see an artist like her again. She truly is a tortured soul who gives the audience such a raw musical performance. Haters will hate but Chan Marshall is a talent beyond this era.
