Death Grips at FYF Fest, where they actually played (more by Wei Shi)
Death Grips

You're never, like, ever going to believe this, but Death Grips, who dropped off Lollapalooza and Osheaga this year, and have cancelled full tours in the past, just cancelled their set at this year's Fun Fun Fun Fest. Nobody saw this coming.

In Death Grips' place, No Age (who have played FFF Fest before) have been added. And (not related to DG), Sarah Silverman has been added to the comedy portion. As discussed, the festival also includes Television, Slayer, Quicksand, Descendents, The Dismemberment Plan, Kurt Vile, Cloud Nothings, The Men, Title Fight, White Lung, and a bunch of other bands that actually care about their fans. Tickets are still available.

In other news, The Smiths aren't reuniting and Liam Gallagher has an opinion on something.

any venue that books this "band" in the future deserves to go under.

anyone who buys tickets to see this "band" deserves to lose their money.

death grip = losers

Well, if people want to waste their time and monkey on these dirty junkies, i guess that's their choice.

Enough of this shit. Can't BV make Death Grips go away forever?

You guys. They're like making a really deep statement by doing this. You guys.. No you guys don't get it, it's like... Really smart.. trust me. They're like the Banksy of music, don't you get it? You guys?

I wonder if venues are still booking this band on the off chance that one day... some day... maybe... they will actually perform. And they want to be the venue where that happens. Unfortunately, only about 100 people across the country probably would give a shit at this point.

smackheads

Yes... it is working. "Fans" of Death Grips aren't sticking around. They are jumping off the band wagon. I can't wait to see these guys again live. It'll be that much sweeter. To actual enough a show with a crowd who appreciates and know the content of the artist. Stick in there people. Death Grips is doing this for the lost boys.

yes I love how they play it like they are making some artistic statement but its obvious they just have serious heroin problems.

Posted by Anonymous | October 16, 2013 3:56 PM

Explain to me why people give a shit about this band?

Posted by Anonymous | October 16, 2013 4:05 PM

Fact- smack heads make the best music.

One of the more annoying sets at FYF. Overrated.

I think the whole concert festival concept is fully played out. Now the cool thing to do is book every act that has the lowest odds of showing up. You could just hype anything, as long as you put your disclaimer and non refundable cut into the fine print. Feel like a big time impresario without leaving your parents' basement. Promote a concert with Tricky, DeLorean, Nachomystium, God Flesh, Hawkwing, DIIV, and 2 Chainz. It don't mean nothin'!

Who is going to continue to book a band like Death Grips??? I don't get it. 3 month the singer will be panhandling for change outiside the 16th & Mission St. Bart Station.

I guess that's one way to let people know that you are available for their bar mitzva

Posted by Anonymous | October 17, 2013 1:52 AM

all this does is give a shitty band some media hype. Focusing solely on their music these guys suck.

Never forced myself to get into them, i'm open minded so when i come across music i don't judge a musician by only one song or album i'd have to dig into their whole catalog to actually judge. This was the first song i heard from them and i didn't like it until i started digging deeper inside the crates and actually listening to an whole album.
