"It's not there like it used to be. I'm not mad at that. You've got lots of new movements happening, like the trap movement, and I enjoy that quite a bit. So musically, there's a lot of great stuff. So far as rhyming and stuff goes, there are a lot of kids out there who are really dope, and that encourages me to get doper still. Like, the whole Odd Future camp, and what they're doing over there, that's special, and then in New York you've got Joey Bada$$ and Pro Era. These are kids, but they're done. They've done their homework. And they are taking things that level further. I don't think hip-hop has to be what it used to be." [Del The Funky Homosapien]
Deltron 3030, the 'alternative hip hop supergroup' of Dan the Automator, Del the Funky Homosapien and Kid Koala, reappeared with a new album and live dates in 2013, orchestra included. Those dates included NYC shows at Brooklyn Bowl (Oct. 9) and Highline Ballroom (Oct. 14), as well as a Chicago show at House of Blues (Oct 19). The latter is pictured in this post.

On 10/15 Deltron 30/30 appeared on Letterman joined by a 16-piece orchestra and 4-piece band onstage, including special guest, producer Just Blaze on keyboards. Check out the video from that, and more pictures and tour dates (Fun Fun Fun Fest included), below...

It's sad how before finding Deltron 3030 I was one of the ignorant haters of rap/hip hop, blinded by the absolute garbage that clogs what most people hear when they look for music of this genre. I am infinitely glad to have found this music´╗┐
