Godflesh at MDF 2012 (more by Fred Pessaro)

Godflesh

If you're a Godflesh fan, you're no doubt already aware that their long-awaited North American tour has been postponed until April 2014 because of visa issues. As promised, the new run of dates has been announced. The former NYC date that was to have happened Saturday (10/19) is now scheduled for April 10, 2014 at Irving Plaza, which is actually kind of a relief, given that NYC will still be in the throes of the clusterfuck that is CMJ this weekend. Ticketmaster's site for the date says that all previously purchased tix will be honored on the new date, which is a relief as well. The openers, however, are TBA; keep an eye out for updates on that front.

See the full run of rescheduled Godflesh dates, listed below...

This worked out perfectly!

How 'bout giving people the option for a refund so they can re-purchase tickets? Alot comes up in six months. 'Pretty presumptous of Live Nation to think that EVERYONE who bought tickets for a 10/19/13 show will be able to make it to a 4/10/14 show. They're probably banking on free money from x amount of no-shows. Scumbags.

5.02: you can ask for a refund. They're just saying that if you bought tickets previously, you can still use them.

blame the drummer

this is bullshit, philadelphia is still selling tickets for the event at the TLA - how am i supposed to get a refund for a show that ticketmaster says is still happening and will still happily sell you tickets for?

emailed ticketmaster - lets see what they say. especially since i doubt they will take " brooklyn vegan ' as my notice from the band. The godflesh website says shows are cancelled, doesnt say anything about rescheduled dates

( i do believe the brooklyn vegan news of the rescheduled dates, i just want my $ 75.00 for two tickets and shipping anf stuff back )

5:02 Ok well why doesn't Live Nation say you can get a refund, too?

Because Live Nation are sleazeball gonifs of the highest order.

By telling people their tickets will be honored but not mentioning refunds can be accepted, they ensure x amount of people who will not seek refunds or go to the show and y amount of extra walkup sales where the walkups will take the place of the no-shows. They're getting no-shows for next April anyway but not mentioning refunds ensures the maximum amount of no-shows and maximum profit from their walkup replacements.

I will say that Live Nation are extremely reliable though. I feel kind of bad for ranting about it now. I'm sorry.

Old dad rock.Boring.

12:52pm is my newest D rider: the dumbshit who poses as an apologetic me (or I should say an apologetic D LOL.)

3:56pm Old dad rock? Clean your ears. Godflesh isn't old ___ rock anything. You know what I love about people like you? You think you're gonna be eternally 1X, 2X, or 3X years old when you're not. You're gonna be 40, 43, 48, 50, 54 and so on. Let's say you're 27 today. You'll be 40 in 2026. Nothing of signifance will happen musically or culturally 2013-26, just one Miley Cyrus, Breaking Bad, Captain Phillips, iPhone, and Arcade Fire after another i.e. one propped up, overhyped pop star, AMC drama show, movie with an over the hill actor, iPhone, and indie rock band after another. You will look back and say "Wow, my life sucks, I saw nothing." I will look back and say I grew up with Beastie Boys, the rise of hiphop and skate culture, the height of NYHC, Suicidal Tendencies, NYHC, grunge (to laugh at), MTV (when it actually was about music), Clinton getting us from out of the red and into the black, girls who didn't mug for camera time, no social networks, face to face interaction.

You? Arcade Fire, Brooklyn Vegan, Coachella, dressing like a That '70s Show nerd, never having true interaction with people from being drugged up by Myspace/Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/etc.

The fourth letter is in rare form. The Lester Bangs of BV.

Godflesh has had visa problems ever since 1989 - why is that? What the hell is on his criminal record? When I finally got to see them they had a Prong drummer playing - in the end that was better than watching Justin & Christian with the drum machine.

3:56-do fill us in on the rebellious voice of the youth why don't you?

Posted by Anonymous | October 16, 2013 9:51 AM

Not all of us are capable of doing this kind of genre.

9:27- Having seen them with a drummer and with just the machine, I think they actually sound better/heavier with the just the machine.
