Joanna Gruesome

We mentioned that noisy Welsh pop act Joanna Gruesome are coming over to NYC next week for CMJ, and at the time we knew of two day shows: Pianos on October 16 and The Rock Shop on October 19. Since then, the band have officially come in the running for this year's Most Shows During CMJ Award, with nine eight appearances listed now, including the Pitchfork unofficial show at 285 Kent on October 18. Here's the rundown, with times where available:

10/15 Brooklyn, NY - Ran Tea House (Force Field PR showcase)
10/16 New York, NY - Pianos (Kanine Records/SESAC party) - 3:30pm
10/16 New York, NY - Pianos (Old Flame Party) 7:45pm
10/17 New York, NY - Cakeshop (Capeshok Presents) midnight
10/18 Brooklyn, NY - Shea Stadium (Portals Music) 9:00pm
10/18 Brooklyn, NY - 285 Kent (Pitchfork showcase) 11:15pm
10/19 Brooklyn, NY - The Rock Shop (Lost Colony party) [day]
10/19 Brooklyn, NY - Death By Audio (Agency Group showcase)
Joanna Gruesome, whose debut Weird Sister is a terrific example of non-wimpy indiepop, just released the video for one of the records' standout cuts, "Sugarcrush," which features some pretty cool animation (and a talking cheeseburger) by Ewan Jones Morris and Casey Raymond. You can watch that below.

Full lineups of the shows mentioned, where available, are below too.
