MIA

As discussed, M.I.A. is set to release her fourth album, Matangi, on November 5 and she'll be playing release shows in NYC and LA, plus Fun Fun Fun Fest, around that time. The NYC release show happens on November 4 at Terminal 5, but she's just also just added another date happening on November 1 at the same venue. Tickets for the newly-added show go on sale Friday (10/11) at noon, and tickets for the previously announced date (same link) are still available. Updated dates are listed below.

M.I.A. also teamed up with Versace for her own line (pictured above, more here), which will be in stores October 16. The Telegraph (via Pitchfork) reports:

"The theme of counterfeits, of those that produce and sell them has always been part of the culture of M.I.A.," the 38-year-old Grammy award winner told Women's Wear Daily. "When I was contacted by Versace, it seemed a great idea to invert the circle. Versace's designs have always been copied, now it's Versace that copies the copies, so those that copy must copy the copies. So this will continue."

...

Brand creative director Donatella Versace seemingly didn't oppose the counterfeit reference: "I adore the energy of the street, so when M.I.A. proposed to expose the issue of counterfeit Versace pieces by creating a collaboration inspired by these items, I thought it was an incredible idea."
She added: "The collection represents all that I love of the new Versus Versace: it's fast, it's noisy, it's brazen and it blends the world of music with that of fashion. I can't wait to see it worn."

Updated M.I.A. dates are listed below...

I dream of being a Versace model. I am walking down the catwalk wearing a fierce gown. I have on dark dark pantyhose fabric on my long legs and am wearing stiletto heels. My hair is done like Farrah Fawcett and I have on Jackie O Sunglasses. I am holing up a picture with a $500.00 bill enclosed in glass. Ria S is in the audience cheering me on. I am sporting a Bulgari necklace and bracelet. There are slot machines going off in the backround. I am a gay man trapped in a mans body who may want to be a super model.

Yes you are correct about Africans slaving but it wasn't considered being a slave. Slavery is doing something against their own will and not getting anything in return. The slavery that started centuries before they did get something in return. I am still commenting about the racism that happens in states. Like quoted Ferguson.
