NY Dolls remember Lou Reed; David Johansen playing Cafe Carlyle on Halloween

“Lou Reed takes his final walk on the wild side this SUNDAY MORNING… — Sylvain Sylvain Mizrahi

Lou Reed RIP

The New York Dolls and The Velvet Underground kind of go hand in hand, co-existing for two years in the early ’70s rock scene and VU’s influence on them (and pretty much any band since) is undeniable. Sylvian Sylvain took to the NYD’s Facebook on Sunday (10/27) upon hearing of Lou Reed’s passing, posting mutliple times, mostly pictures and video clips, adding “Thank you for making our lives better.” You can check them all out here.

Meanwhile, Dolls frontman David Johansen is playing supper club Cafe Carlyle on Halloween under his loungey Buster Poindexter guise. Sold out.
