Phish at MSG in 2012 (more by Robert Altman)
Phish

Phish are only a few weeks away from their Halloween shows in Atlantic City (sold out), but they've just announced another holiday celebration for the NYC-area: their annual New Year's run at Madison Square Garden, which goes from December 28-31. Tickets for all four shows go on sale Saturday (10/12) at noon.

Other upcoming multi-night holiday jam band runs in NYC include Phil Lesh & Friends (Halloween) and The Disco Biscuits (New Year's).

And don't forget a bunch of indie type bands are working on a Grateful Dead tribute.

For New Year's shows in NYC with less dreads, tie-dye shirts and shrooms, there's also Patti Smith, Punch Brothers, Clutch, Jim Jones Revue, Mykki Blanco, and Gogol Bordello.

All Phish dates are listed below...

How many people will OD from molly? 5 +/-

Posted by Anonymous | October 9, 2013 10:50 AM

Nah, Phish fans have been doing drugs since the 90s and can handle it better (most of the time) than 20 year old girls at EDM festivals.

@10:58

Have you been to a Phish show lately?

The crowd is more than just the 30+ crowd. A whole LOT of 20 something crowd.

The EDM crowd and the Phish crowd share a lot of fans

Posted by Anonymous | October 9, 2013 11:10 AM

I'm sure they do, 11:10, but EDM definitely skews younger, with lots of high-school aged kids.

Is Roseland really closing?

Posted by Anonymous | October 9, 2013 11:56 AM

All the people who teeter between Phish and EDM will be at the Disco Biscuits show in the Theatre.

I can't find any articles about Roseland closing, so it's safe to say it's not.

30 years from now, no one will remember Earl Sweatshirt. 200 years from now, people will hold the compositions of the Beatles as high as Beethoven or Mozart.
