Pixies at Bowery Ballroom in September (more by Dana (distortion) Yavin)

The Pixies recently wrapped up a 4-night run of small NYC shows, and now the reinvigorated band, with a new lineup and new music in tow, have announced the full North American leg of their world tour for 2014. The tour doesn't come back to NYC, but it does include area shows happening at Port Chester's Capitol Theatre on January 19 and Newark's NJ Performing Arts Center on January 21. Tickets for all shows on the tour go on sale Friday (10/11) at 10 AM. You can get Cap tickets via Ticketfly and NJPAC tickets via Ticketmaster. All dates are listed below.

The Cap show, the NJPAC show, and a few others will be opened by FIDLAR, who play NYC even sooner on their tour with The Orwells.

UPDATE: The shows are on fan presale NOW (password: "ANDRO").

Pixies also just made a video for "Andro Queen" off their newest EP. You can check that out, along with the list of tour dates, tour flyer, and a recent live video, below...

I wonder how long the 2033 Bagboy 20th Anniversary tour will last? Two years? Three?

They're in a post-Matt Sharpe Weezer phase these days: Integral bass member gone. Bad new music. Over-saturated touring and hoping bands like Best Coast and FIDLAR keeps their indie cred in tact.

Pixies have destroyed their brand.

damn these guys just will not stop playing shows

Posted by Anonymous | October 7, 2013 9:20 AM

They should've taken some tips from Dino Jr.

Posted by Anonymous | October 7, 2013 9:21 AM

9:00 totally nailed it. the new shit even sounds like Beverly hills.

Posted by Anonymous | October 7, 2013 9:50 AM

They should have taken tips from Dino, Burma, Superchunk, Sebadoh, MBV... there's no shortage of reunited bands who continued to make good music. Without touring incessantly on their "greatest hits". These guys destroyed their legacy. Sad

good call anon 9:00am

Awesome band plays sold old shows to fans who are clamoring to see them and that's a bad thing. Only on BV can something like this be considered negative.

Posted by Anonymous | October 7, 2013 10:35 AM

Fans clamor to see Coldplay. Your point?

Posted by Anonymous | October 7, 2013 10:43 AM

Cash is king, do the math. I mean it's this or one of them goes juggling, right? More expensive tickets, people still go, gusranteed money, times 40 dates equals cash.

It's not legacy anymore if the Fixx is still touring, is it, really?

Posted by Anonymous | October 7, 2013 10:45 AM

You obviously missed it. Regardless of what band it is, if their fans want to see them and they tour, that's somehow bad. Get over yourself.

Thought they actually seemed more into it when I saw them last month than they did when I saw them in 04. I went into it kind of ready to be disappointed, but was pleasantly surprised. New songs are still terrible, but everything else sounded great.

It will be funny to see FIDLAR at NJPac.

Posted by Anonymous | October 7, 2013 1:15 PM

No Twin Cities date? :/

Posted by Anonymous | October 7, 2013 2:02 PM

I dont understand why Kim Deal is deemed essential for a Pixies show.

Posted by Anonymous | October 7, 2013 6:08 PM

Shes not!!!
People who post here are idiots!!!!

Posted by Anonymous | October 7, 2013 6:18 PM

No NYC shows?

Posted by Anonymous | October 7, 2013 8:40 PM

Because without Kim Deal this is just "The Pixies" not Pixies.

It's all very Billy Corgan. Sad.

at this point it's safe to say they're officially back together. So, why milk past material for all it's worth?
Why not hit the studio and put out a new LP? afraid to because of all the backlash Bag Boy earned?

fuck this band. I agree with 12:14. total cash grab!

Posted by Jeff | October 16, 2013 11:54 AM

STFU you snotty nosed hipsters. Most of you were still pooping your pants when this band was putting out killer music.

Posted by Anonymous | October 23, 2013 11:26 AM

I admire any band that can go out on tour, sell tickets, make money, make records, and survive as a band, as opposed to working a 9-5, or other shit job, pissing in the wind slowly until you retire, or die, which ever comes first.

Posted by Anonymous | November 26, 2013 6:23 PM

9:53 spot on. I was obsessed with them in Middle School. I went to their last Boston show, and it was awesome. But, they should have left the cord pulled. It makes sense though. If you're a businessman - you have stock to fall back on if you work at a public company. You don't get that in a band when you break up.

Posted by Anonymous | November 26, 2013 6:42 PM

11:54- They released a new EP not too long ago. This year- I think

Maybe he is talking about Kim Deal. I don't wanna be one those fans that are stuck in the past because their new stuff is great, but the "kissing you is so hard in this wild thresh" line stuck out to me. It could be saying that it was too hard being good to Kim amidst all the uncontrolled chaos of the Pixies' stardom.
