J Mascis w/ Dinosaur Jr @ Irving Plaza in May (more by Caroline Harrison)

Browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight's shows. Here are some highlights...

Little Dragon, SZA @ Bowery Ballroom
Swedish synth pop band Little Dragon always bring danceable tunes and a highly entertaining show, and forward-thinking R&B singer SZA (signed to TDE) is worth catching too. Sold out.

Yellow Dogs, Papertwin, Dinowalrus, Zula @ Brooklyn Bowl
A bunch of local bands on this bill, and indie pop band Zula are especially worth catching.

Big Terrific Comedy Show @ Cameo Gallery
Max Silvestri hosts the free weekly comedy show in the back of Williamsburg's Lovin' Cup. Tonight's line-up features Josh Gondelman, Josh Gondelman, Nick Turner, and Ali Wong.

John Wesley Coleman, The Sheiks, Juan Wauters (of The Beets), Mail The Horse @ Death By Audio
Austin "trash poet" John Wesley Coleman is currently on tour with Tennessee's The Sheiks and their is their first of two NYC shows. If you can't make DBA tonight, they'll be at Cake Shop on Friday (10/25).

Skaters, Hunters, TEEN, Free Time @ Glasslands
The poppy Skaters headline this bill but we're more partial to the always-fun-live Hunters , TEEN and Australian expats Free Time who would make for a good bill on their own.

Toro y Moi, The Sea and Cake @ Terminal 5
Like Washed Out and Neon Indian, Toro y Moi survived chillwave and has made his way to bigger stages, like NYC's Terminal 5. Opening the show is veteran indie rock band The Sea and Cake.

Sammy Hagar @ The Capitol Theatre
This onetime Van Halen lead singer is doing a night of "FOUR DECADES OF ROCK" at Capitol Theatre. Sounds face-melting.

J Mascis, Speedy Ortiz @ The Flat
After J Mascis does an in-store signing at Mishka for the debut of their new Dinosaur Jr line, he heads to the afterparty at The Flat to do a solo set. A much newer Western Mass band Speedy Ortiz (who likely learned a thing or two from Dinosaur Jr, and who now share a producer/engineer with them) open the show.

B.B. King @ B.B. King Blues Club
It's his club, he can play when he wants and what he wants.

Nothing Changes w/ Void Vision and Nao Katafuchi @ Home Sweet Home
The weekly all-things-gothy party hosts performances by Philadelphia synth-wavers Void Vision and Nao Katafuchi.

Eric Burdon & The Animals @ Ridgefield Playhouse
Rock legend Eric Burdon has been touring this year, having done two nights in NYC back in May. His current tour doesn't come back to NYC but if you don't mind traveling a bit, there's a stop in CT tonight (and he played NJ last night).

It's "Free Time" (who were great at Ran Tea House last week) on the Glasslands bill, not "Face Time"

no place t post on that Savages article but I'll say the show sucked. Flat Flat Flat i liked them i a smaller room Saw them open at Glasslands. That show had more tension than this big box fiasco.

@11:54,
