Alison Moyet released a new LP (videos), playing NYC tonight

As one half of Yazoo, Alison Moyet brought soul to Vince Clark’s electropop beats and melodies on such ’80s classics as “Don’t Go,” “Situation” and “Only You.” (Maybe you saw their reunion shows in 2008?) She had hits of her own, too, with her first two albums being UK chart-toppers as well. Moyet returned to her electronic roots this year with her new album, The Minutes, though it’s more modern dance pop than an Reagan-era throwback. Check out a couple videos, plus a couple Yazoo videos too, below.

Alison plays NYC tonight (11/14) at the Manhattan Center’s Grand Ballroom (upstairs from Hammerstein), the last of a small few North American shows she did this week. Andy Rourke of The Smiths (whose former bandmate we just interviewed) is DJing before the show and tickets are still available.
