Grass Is Green releasing a new LP, touring, playing year-end NYC show w/ Porches, Krill, Roomrunner, Big Ups & more

Grass Is Green

Boston’s Grass Is Green have announced that they’ll release Vacation Vinny, the followup to 2012’s Ronson, on January 14 via Exploding In Sound. Like many others in the Northeast area have been doing, they recorded the album at Silent Barn’s studio with Julian Fader and Carlos Hernandez of Ava Luna producing. The LP’s first single, “Vacation 2.0,” pretty much picks up where Ronson left off, with fidgety stop-start post-hardcore and screwy, discordant melodies that you might not call “catchy” but that definitely stick in your head. Stream the new track, along with the album artwork and tracklist, below.

As discussed, Grass Is Green will be going on a tour with Speedy Ortiz which doesn’t hit NYC, but right before that, Grass Is Green will play an Exploding In Sound year-end celebration at Baby’s All Right on December 30 with a ginormous lineup of Porches, Krill, Ovlov, Roomrunner, Pile (acoustic), Baked, Dead Wives, Big Ups, Gnarwhal, Two Inch Astronaut, Bad History Month, Woozy, and special guests. Admission is $10 at the door.

Meanwhile, Bad History Month has some other dates before that, including another Brooklyn show happening on December 17 at Death by Audio with Bueno, Bennio Qwerty, and Sediment Club. All of their dates are listed below.

Porches have other upcoming dates too.

And speaking of Exploding In Sound Records, BrooklynVegan is co-presenting a show with EIS on December 12 at Death by Audio with Chumped, PUP, Slothrust, Slow Warm Death, and Alarms & Controls.

All Grass Is Green and Bad History Month dates are listed, along with that song stream, album artwork and tracklist, below…
