Kanye West in Sweden in 2011 (more)
Kanye

Kanye West just premiered the video for "Bound 2," the final track on Yeezus, during his appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. The video features (a topless) Kim Kardashian and was directed by Nick Knight. You can watch it, along with his Ellen interview, below.

UPDATE: The uncensored version of the video is out now, and you can watch that below. NSFW obviously.

Kanye also just responded to president Barack Obama calling him a "jackass" during a 2009 Hot 107.9 interview. Via The Guardian:

On the "jackass" comment, Kanye admitted that "that's how the world felt," but that Obama shouldn't have responded negatively. "I don't care if somebody the President or not. I care about thoughts, and how you helpin' people, and what you bring to the world. My music brings joy to people. What I create brings joy to people, and I'm about people. Me, I'm not about me. I'm about, 'I got an idea that people gonna like.'"
Yeezy's tour begins its four-night run in NYC tonight (11/19) at Barclays Center. It also hits Barclays on Wednesday (11/20) and then MSG on Saturday (11/23) and Sunday (11/24). Tonight's and Saturday's shows are being opened by Kendrick Lamar, and Wednesday's and Sunday's shows will be the "final" shows for legendary group A Tribe Called Quest. Tickets for all four nights are still available.

In between those shows, you might run into him at a local Wendy's.

Ye also just spoke on Bret Eason Ellis' new podcast, which you can listen to here. New videos and updated list of tour dates below...

get your grammar on

Posted by Anonymous | November 19, 2013 9:52 AM

Hey Kayne you're still a jackass for being an African-American who is using the Confederate flag, a symbol of slavery, racism, and treason, to sell merchandise. You have not once denounced it for being that symbol.

Obama made a good call on you.

BTW the Affordable Health Care Act is the best thing to happen to America since The New Deal and the problems with healthcare.gov will be straightened out, much to the chagrin of Republicans and general Obama-haters.

Oh yeah, apply for healthcare over the phone (toll-free call) if you can't apply via the website. The call is free and you'll talk to an actual living human being who has a job because of you x the population who needs/wants affordable health care.

haha stupid white people buying into this

Kanye's as edgy as a feather pillow about as smart as one too.

Posted by Anonymous | November 19, 2013 10:10 AM

tip already called him out on it

oh yeah, get bent

Posted by blayne | November 19, 2013 10:22 AM

D...the confederate flag has nothing to do with racism. It has to do with Southern pride, rebellion and resistance to the federal government at the time. No slave ship ever had a confederate flag on it, yet they did have the American flag. Do you think there wasn't slavery in the Northern states at the time? The civil war really had hardly anything to do with slavery and racism. I know you're too busy bagging groceries and trolling BV to read up on U.S. history but c'mon man, use your head.

Posted by Anonymous | November 19, 2013 10:25 AM

hey 10:25 - stop your racist, slavery-apologizing blather dressed up as discourse.

the confederate flag is ALL about racism because the confederacy was ALL about racism (i.e. SLAVERY).

yeah, states rights. gimme a break racist.

Posted by Anonymous | November 19, 2013 10:30 AM

kanye and kendrick? i'm there... it's only hip-hop, it's the american dream, cars, girls, money and hanging at the club... ain't that what you want?

Posted by Anonymous | November 19, 2013 10:31 AM

hey D - don't be so hard on the boy. he is ignorant, after all.

Posted by Anonymous | November 19, 2013 10:32 AM

BV hipster conservative = wannabe Gavin McInnes and Vincent Gallo

Posted by Anonymous | November 19, 2013 10:34 AM

And Gavin McInnes is a wannabe Vincent Gallo, and both are wannabes of another famous conservative musician. Guess who?

Posted by Anonymous | November 19, 2013 10:40 AM

10:30...Did I apologize for slavery you fucking reactionary asshole? I simply stated a fact. Prove it wrong. Your Mother should've had an abortion instead of giving birth to scum like you.

Posted by Anonymous | November 19, 2013 10:42 AM

wrap it up kim we are tired of that ole pussy

Posted by Anonymous | November 19, 2013 10:55 AM

10:25 is the type of person to refer to the Civil War as the War of Northern Aggression

Posted by Anonymous | November 19, 2013 11:35 AM

...the confederate flag has nothing to do with racism."

It has everything to do with racism. African Americans were enslaved and hung under that flag.

"It has to do with Southern pride, rebellion and resistance to the federal government at the time."

Right, treason. And looking back at it in 20fucking13, racism as the Confederacy held African Americans against their will whether they wanted to be free or not ("not" in the case of those conditioned to never consider freedom/escape.)

"No slave ship ever had a confederate flag on it, yet they did have the American flag."

Um, the Confederacy defended plantations where slavery took place thus defended slavery. Are you this fucking stupid in real life? You're a troll but I'll humor you. I know full well of our shameful pre-Confederacy past but in the end the USA ended slavery under the American flag so spare me the bullshit about the American flag.

"Do you think there wasn't slavery in the Northern states at the time? The civil war really had hardly anything to do with slavery and racism. I know you're too busy bagging groceries and trolling BV to read up on U.S. history but c'mon man, use your head."

Actually, you should use your fucking head and read some American history called the Emancipation Proclamation an executive order President Lincoln issued on New Year's Day 1863 you dumbass.

You're too busy running your mouth to a guy who would wipe the sidewalk with you in real life if you had the balls to say I'm bagging groceries and trolling BV to his face.

Posted by D | November 19, 2013 11:50 AM

Nah 11:35pm he's just a troll who has no clue about the Emanicipation Proclamation and it's pretty embarrassing that I schooled his dumbass by mentioning it, especially if I actually was a grocery bagger (as I'm not.)

Posted by D | November 19, 2013 11:56 AM

This is unrelated to this post. But, I gotta vent.

Ian Cohen just gave the new death grips album an 8.4 rating on Pitchfork. Ian Cohen must be the bands heroin dealer.

Posted by Anonymous | November 19, 2013 12:08 PM

^hat would you give the new death grips album?

^what

Posted by Anonymous | November 19, 2013 12:14 PM

12:14, I didn't listen to it. I refuse to listen to it. But, it is not worth an 8.4.

Posted by Anonymous | November 19, 2013 12:59 PM

That is one of the worst videos I have ever seen. Is it a parody? Oh, and the song sucks too. His flow is terrible, he has a bad voice, and the diction is poor. What a train wreck. Why do so many people like it?

Posted by Anonymous | November 19, 2013 1:04 PM

confederate flag has nothing to do with racism 10:24/10:42? it has EVERYTHING to do with racism!

and "southern pride?" an oxymoron at best, a statement of profound ignorance at worst.

there is NOTHING to be proud of in the south.

"rebellion and resistance to the federal government?" yeah, because the federal government was trying to stop the genocidal practice of SLAVERY that the south was desperate to retain.

why don't you move back to where you came from, racist poseur.

Posted by Anonymous | November 19, 2013 3:33 PM

I am not sure why the issue of the Civil War was brought up at all in this thread, but to be clear, the civil war was not originally fought to free the slaves as many have suggested. The Emancipation Proclamation was not made until 2 years after the war started, and some have said Lincoln fretted over it even though he personally believed slavery was wrong. In any event, it was ultimately a strategic decision as the war was more or less a stalemate at that point and the North counted on the newly freed slaves fighting for the Union. Slavery, to be sure, was always one of many factors that led to the war, but the war itself was mostly about some of the same issues of states rights and federalism that we grapple with to this date. Slavery just happened to be one of the issues that lit the fuse. While there were certainly plenty of people in the north at the start of the 1860s who were against slavery, it would be a stretch to say they were willing to die to free black people from their bondage.

Posted by Anonymous | November 19, 2013 4:11 PM

That song is such garbage. The lyrics are awful. Apparently this guy really did drop out of college, because his grammar is atrocious.

Posted by Anonymous | November 19, 2013 4:19 PM

There's a very small contingent of people who fly the confederate flag in a legitimately non-racist, 'it's our heritage' kind of way (if yr down south that is--and I'm aware 'it's our heritage' is a loaded phrase, but in certain extremely-limited situations it really is just a way to prop up your region, the way team-logos do for some people), but we all know that 99% percent of the time it operates as a symbol of 'white pride.'

The confederate flag is without a doubt a token of racism, Kanye West knows this, and because he's pretty bored and probably a pod-person by now, which is why he's using the flag to promote his song 'New Slaves.' I'm all for people/artists freely associating signs and signifiers, but not when it's as uninspired and poorly thought out as a black rapper numbly placing one of the most historically racist images ever on some merchandise.

Having said all that, it's also amazingly absurd to imagine people of all races screaming along to 'Blood on The Leaves' with some official Kanye Confederate Gear on their backs (will I be able to nab that swag with confederate scrip vouchers btw?). Maybe this is how we begin to heal some of these racial wounds and build some new bridges, an opportunity such as this to all look like complete jack-asses together.

Posted by Anonymous | November 19, 2013 4:26 PM

D - re: your comment about the Affordable Care Act. If you live in NY, you can use the NY exchange, which doesn't have the website problems that the Federal hosted website has.

Posted by Anonymous | November 19, 2013 4:28 PM

Bunch of Sally's getting their panties in a knot over a flag.
It's a symbol of anti-federal government... And if you've been paying attention, then NSA, PRISM, etc etc etc is all fed govt crap.
I say fly that shit with pride.

Posted by A man with a dick | November 19, 2013 4:30 PM

2:35 VIP GA is still expensive. Regular GA is the back half of the floor, which sucks.

Posted by Anonymous | November 19, 2013 4:38 PM

The Confederate flag is much more than a symbol of anti-Federal government. Its use in the US is not dissimilar to the use of the Nazi flag by certain elements in Eastern Europe. While it certainly stands in opposition to the federal government, it is revisionism at best to suggest that it does not also stand for white separatism.

Posted by Anonymous | November 19, 2013 4:40 PM

Clarifying something I said at 4:11 -- the war was fought to preserve the union. If that would have been accomplished prior to 1863, then it is debatable whether the slaves would have been freed at that time. I believe that if the goals of the war could have been accomplished without emancipation, then the North may have accepted that.

Posted by Anonymous | November 19, 2013 4:42 PM

the Emancipation Proclamation only freed slaves in the Confederate states, not in those Union states that still allowed slavery (the Border states) and since the Confederate states were in open rebellion at the time the EP really carried no weight

why can't more people listen to Public Enemy?!

a class act front man(Chuck D.) that celebrates positive things of his people but with the honesty and heart to cry foul when his peers create hate. West is a fool yet he seemingly has more supporters than PE. Sad how the worst shit floats to the top.
West also feels the need to pick on others ie Taylor Swift.

D is right on with his confederate flag comments. If your ancestors were killed under that very flag some of your comments would read differently.

Um, blacks were free in the Union states. Yeah, Lincoln issued the EP for Confederate state slaves and Union black people were slaves. 'Way to miss The Civil War in fifth grade history class, jackass.
