Sleigh Bells @ Terminal 5 - 11/23/13
Sleigh Bells

Rage pop duo Sleigh Bells wrapped up their tour in support of this year's Bitter Rivals in NYC over the weekend with two shows at Terminal 5 (11/22 & 11/23). Unlike the rest of the tour, these shows also had Danny Brown on the bill, and Montreal indie poppers Doldrums (who were on the whole tour) opened them too. Sleigh Bells, now three albums deep in almost as many years, split the set pretty evenly between all of those releases. Pictures of the second night, and the setlist from the first, are in this post. Pictures of Danny Brown are here.

Garbage, indeed—Limp Bizkit for hispters.

Love music that has no purpose in reality and gives privileged people a false notion of what 'angst' is. This music however is comprised of 4 fucking notes on a distasteful distorted guitar with high pitched shouting female vocals with pointless lyrics and deliberate over clipping to give it that 'edge'. Congratulations everybody! Oh and also a terrible generic drum beat which everyone has come to accept as 'that will fucking do because who cares about at least an attempt at originality'.
