The Breeders at Pitchfork Music Festival 2013 (more by James Richards IV)

As discussed, The Breeders are playing their last Last Splash shows this December on a short tour leading up to their New Year's Eve show in Austin. Speedy Ortiz will be supporting many of the dates, including both NYC shows happening on December 19 and 20 at Webster Hall. Tickets for both nights are still available, and we're also giving away a pair to each night. Details on how to enter to win, and the full list of tour dates, below.

UPDATE: In addition to performing Last Splash like they've been doing all year, the NYC, Chicago, Boston, and Austin stops will also feature full performances of their 1990 debut album, Pod.

Meanwhile, the Kim Deal-less Pixies are also touring and they'll be in the NYC-area for shows in Port Chester and NJ this January.

Speedy Ortiz also have other upcoming dates, including a NYC show with Los Campesinos! on January 22 at Irving Plaza (tickets) and a tour with Grass Is Green.

FYI Bowery Presents tweeted that they're also doing Pod at these shows.

They should kick Speedy Ortiz off the bill and do Title TK as well.

I like the cut of your jib, 5:31.

I'm dying to know if they're working on new material with this line up. The Kim Deal solo singles this year have been pretty great...

they should kick last splash off the bill and do mountain battles

I'm confused. What would they perform other than Pod or Last Splash? Did anyone hear anything they did less than 20 years ago?

I fucked with last splash

saw this broad with the pixies once. she chain-smoked to the point that when she had to sing backup, she did the quickest ninja move ever and just held the cig in her fretting hand. this was right after the smoking ban in public places in NYS went down. that's the only thing i remember from an otherwise lame show.

and what of the Safari EP?

Posted by Anonymous | November 27, 2013 10:30 AM

8:04, you must confuse easily. Title TK, Mountain Battles, The Amps album (which the Breeders have always played from) and the Safari EP all have some fantastic work and are key parts of the Breeders live sets.

How the hell did this vegan crap get in to my news feed? Especially when I'm trying to enjoy my veal burger?

If you didn't get your fill of "Mountain Battles" during the late 2000's tours then you aren't a true fan. Bring on the old shit. To add to the authenticity they should resume drinking a lot.

Kim's looking a bit Chrissie Hynde in this live photo

I think they made the sound in the beginning by plugging a microphone into a guitar amp. This weird sound has been sampled by Mirwais' on his track "Disco Science" (but it's unlikely, that nobody hasn't pointed that out in the comments yet).

The Breeders are planning a tour to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the release of Last Splash. They are from the area where I grew up in Dayton, OH and this Wednesday they are having a show at Southgate House in Newport,KY. I can remember this song when I was 12 or 13 years old. The best rock music was made in the 90's and The Breeders were part of music history in the 90's.
