Posted by Anonymous | November 15, 2013 10:30 PM

yessssss this sounds wonderful!

Posted by Anonymous | November 16, 2013 12:26 AM

So sorry for that tragedy! But they are dead mow, they don't need any benefit. How about helping out the poor people of the Philippines instead??

Posted by ME | November 16, 2013 2:58 AM

Because rewarding people for choosing to live in the path of a typhoon is a moral hazard.

Posted by Anonymous | November 16, 2013 3:45 AM

does nobody on these comments know what the cost of funeral services are? I have no idea if they're shipping bodies halfway around the world or burying them in New York but neither is free. I have no idea if they're getting Muslim rites which must be cheaper since they don't have viewings and they try to avoid embalming but still must cost something to arrange. nonetheless, dying is very expensive.

Posted by Anonymous | November 16, 2013 4:20 AM

3:45pm Rewarding people? Are you on drugs tonight? No one chooses to live in the path of a typhoon numbnuts.

'Nothing wrong with a benefit as it's actualy work put into raising money not cyberbegging.

4:20, I paid around $8000 for a family member's embalming, cremation, casket, burial, church service, banquet, burial plot, some flowers, it adds up quick, and I got a discount from the funeral home. This was last year. Everyone should have life insurance.

Posted by Anonymous | November 16, 2013 7:18 AM

4:20, how do you know that they are Muslim? Christians and Jews exist (although not many) in Iran.

Posted by Anonymous | November 16, 2013 7:22 AM

With all of the sanctions this country has against Iran right now, how are the parents of these boys going to be able to receive the money to help bury them? The bodies must be embalmed before the airlines will accept them. Bread and hyacinths to you YD & AE.

Posted by Anonymous | November 16, 2013 7:49 AM

nothing says benefit quite like a dj set from the creator of "everybody on my dick like they supposed to be."

Posted by Anonymous | November 16, 2013 8:37 AM

7:18 wow it sucks to be a dead christian! Viewings, wakes, coffins, who needs all of these? When i'm gone, i'm gone. Feed me to the lions.

Posted by ME | November 16, 2013 10:18 AM

Also, to benefit "the two surviving members of Yellow Dogs"? Why??

Posted by ME | November 16, 2013 10:19 AM

@10:19AM - because they are homeless now, because this murder took place in their apartment and they were forced by this tragedy to leave.

Posted by Anonymous | November 16, 2013 10:43 AM

Irish wakes, at home, are the best. Everybody gets lit up and plays cards with the deceased one last time!

Posted by Anonymous | November 16, 2013 11:33 AM

people should really come out for this
even if you didnt know the band, its a cool bill

Posted by Anonymous | November 16, 2013 11:35 AM

@2:58 am.. Helping the Philippinoes???????? Are you kidding me.???This is and Iranian tragedy. There is time and place to help all other causes. Now it's time to help some of our own. Is that too hard to understand for some of us Iranians? No matter what religion they belived in the cost of barrying them is HUGE. These were struggling artists with families thousands of miles away. @ 7:18am not everyone can afford or even qualify for life insurance. Every member who is getting a benefit from this fundraising has been tragically and financially impacted. That's it. So let's all get together remember them, help them and stop all these shenanigans.

Posted by Anonymous | November 16, 2013 11:40 AM

@12:55 please meet me anywhere you want and speak that way to my face. you can bring all your friends and family. lets do this. seriously.

Posted by Anonymous | November 16, 2013 1:29 PM

It is a tragedy and it is important for people to come together and reflect on it. Unfortunately, it seems to be managed Iranian-style as usual. It is not clear who is handling this event and why they should be trusted with this money. Why would the living band members need money from the proceeds? Also, it would have been nice if there was an attempt to do something more selfless, like setting up a memorial fund for Iranian struggling artists, etc.

This show wasn't set up by the band or their management. It was set up by friends of these people as a gesture to help, from within the
music community that they participated in.

Let that be known.

You can continue to anonymously rattle off unfounded, self-involved personal gripes in the meantime.

11:52, you can bury cremains. Consider others who, unlike you, may want a double plot so they can have their grave sites together. They make a very small casket, for this purpose. There is also a separate casket for cremation that must be purchased.
ME, understand that can be arranged, but may well involve expenses you have not anticipated. I imagine that a will and life insurance policy could be made to make it happen, when you pass. Of course, you might want to have a benefit concert that features your corpse being fed to lions as part of the night's entertainment. With the right promotion, this could pay to have others fed to lions as well, continuing your noble legacy.

they should have just said that the money was going towards sending the bodies back to iran, to the grieving families. It was strange to mention that the remaining band members needed money too. I mean NYc is fucking expensive, so I sort of understand, but the fact that they could even to afford live where they lived says they had to have some other means, and I'm sure they have friends, co workers and employers that would have helped regardless of a fundraiser. Anyway the lineup is great, people should go out and support raising money to get these poor guys home. And the remaining band members should maybe make an official statement about for what exactly they need to crowd source fund during this time? I feel bad for everyone involved. what a fucking tragedy.

the only thing better than BK indie bands killing each other is muslim BK indie bands killing each other.

^ Wow you are a bigoted piece of shit.

BTW dipshit, a Christian (or so he says he is) George W. Bush started two wars which have killed more people than the 9/11 terrorist attacks, and he started wars with people who had nothing to do with those attacks. So "read the Bible = not good"? No.

What's that famous song by Nada Surf. Saw them in Boston. Rad Band! Anyway the lineup is great, people should go out and support raising money to get these poor guys home. And the remaining band members should maybe make an official statement about for what exactly they need to crowd source fund during this time?

Always Love by Nada Surf because "I never learned enough to listen to the voice that told me, 'Always love. Hate will get you every time. Always love. Don't wait 'til the finish line.'
