Yo La Tengo at Pitchfork Festival 2013 (more by Amanda Hatfield)
YLT

Browse our full NYC show calendar for all of tonight's shows. Here are some highlights...

Yo La Tengo @ The Bell House
One of the many sad things about Maxwell's closing this year was that Yo La Tengo's annual Hannukah shows would no longer be happening. It's not quite the same but their four sold-out holiday shows at The Bell House will hopefully have some of the same spirit and surprises. This is the final night.

Alex G., Crying, Frankie Cosmos, Pupppy @ Shea Stadium
It's a pretty strong bill at Shea tonight with the lo-fi guitar pop of Alex G, the indie rock chiptune of Crying, and the anti-folk leanings of Frankie Cosmos.

Rhett Miller, Nicole Atkins, Janeane Garofalo, Jim Turner & more @ City Winery
Old 97's singer Rhett Miller is throwing his holiday extravaganza -- an evening of comedy and music -- at City Winery tonight with multiple guests, including Nicole Atkins (who just sang at the Seaport tree-lighting), the funny Janeane Garofalo, and more.

Night Train w/ Wyatt Cenac @ Littlefield
Get on board Wyatt Cenac's weekly Night Train comedy show, this week with H. Jon Benjamin, Dan St. Germain, Brooks Wheelen, Brooke Van Poppelen, Sean Patton, Jared Logan, and more.

There's not too much going on tonight, but if you do feel like going out, maybe it's a good night to check out something for the first time like Park Slope's Barbes, which hosts its weekly shows from Brain Cloud (7 PM) and Chica Libre (9:30 PM) tonight.

I just got home to my place in queens, and I went to put on my Fugazzi records and eat some hummus. Unfortunately, my mom ate all my pita chips.

I just got back home from D's place in queens. We were playing Fugazzi records, but I left because D's mom ate all the pita chips so we couldn't eat all the fucking hummus. Also, D likes Blink 182 so I was like fuck you man. I didn't even want to play their show. My band rules all we do is heroin. We're so alt. We're like fucking K records indie.

Maxwell's closing is indeed a bad new for fans like me.Hope we could get something new and innovative after it.
