Snow

Here is the definition of black metal, as told by the experts in Norway's Immortal:

COLD.
WÜÜDS.
SPIKES.
FROST.
CORPSE PAINT.
BLASHYRKH.
There you have it. We already posted a playlist of snow-themed pop songs, but if anyone should be celebrating NYC's current crystalline entombment (single digits tonight!), it's the metal set. Sadly, there aren't any black metal shows of note happening tonight, so you won't have much cause to venture out into the bitter winds of nowhere in pursuit of icy tremolo riffs and goblin vocals. (Though there are some metal shows going down.) Still, those of you who are weathering the storm at home can enter the grim and frostbitten kingdoms with these 14 black metal celebrations of all things cold, frozen, freezing, icy, wintry, and so forth.

---

Immortal - "Frozen by Icewinds"

Darkthrone - "Where Cold Winds Blow"

Agalloch - "Falling Snow"

Great list! Although a bit light on new wave of British heavy metal

Forgot Forest Silence - philosophy of winter, or somethin like that, perfect winter black metal

No amount of snow can make seeing a BM band playing a show in NYC atmospheric or mystical. Something about the starbucks and the juice bar and the chinese take out place around the corner kills it.

Maybe someone will order a white pie later. Will that me atmospheric enough for you?

^ Why does BV even bother to separate "Metal" from "Comedy" at the top of the page?

Faggoty scarves and their secret crushes on metal people. We've decided this is not even newsworthy after all.

Does 9:41 sound a little sexually frustrated to anyone else?

Why, yes.

I would like to talk about Jesus with you. You should think, "this is perhaps not the best place for a Christian to do this." However, this is where you would read this, then, is the best place. Jesus cares for you, He loves you, Christ lovingly want to change your life, maybe you use the music to occupy spaces in itself, satisfy your emotions, anyway. Jesus was victorious in his death on the cross, justification before God to you and to me and was victorious in his resurrection to give us life in him. Perhaps their social environment has a very distorted picture of the real gospel, many people can read it from several nationalities, but the gospel is one, this is mighty salvation and transformation of man whatever their status. Jesus loves you.
